WeWriWa o9.19.21

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday! I'm kinda getting back into the groove of this and trying to post earlier in the week instead of the night before. The blog, however, needs a makeover, things are so outdated! lol.

Anyway, we are going to continue on with my untitled serial killer WIP. Picking up right where we left off last week with Dennis.

I grabbed my thermos of coffee and keys, and headed out the door for another day of running the shop yard. It was already, sunny and warming up in the Mojave desert on the outskirts of Lancaster, a single tumbleweed blowing across the barren dirt yard. I hobbled over to my car, my lame leg giving me more trouble than usual. What a fucking asshole Derrick was for smashing my leg with a baseball bat when we were teenagers. Fuck him.

The sunlight reflected harshly off of the orange strips on my Dodge Challenger, creating a blinding glare. Beneath the glare, I could see dust had blown through the night, the black paint looking dull. It was such a bitch keeping a car clean in the desert. I would have to wipe it down, yet again, before going into L.A. later. If Derrick’s car was around, I would have drawn a dick in the dust for him, right across the windshield.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * End of snippet, but I'm going to continue on because there are four more lines I really want to share:

I opened the car and got in, setting the thermos in the cupholder. As I went to stick the keys in the ignition, I stopped and touched the small purple crystal star keychain hanging off. It was almost a year ago when Serena Fire had given it to me for my birthday, along with a free lap dance. That girl was fire.

WeWriWa o9.12.21

It has been two years since I've done this! I really hand an urge to jump back in today! Despite my absence, I have still been writing here and there, always coming up with new stories, but as per my usual M.O. never finishing anything. I need to figure out this blog an update it.

Anyway, the excerpt I am about to share is from a WIP. It has no title, but is a serial killer type of story. I'm just going to start at the very beginning because why not. It is from the pov of a man named Dennis. Creative punctuation used to make it fit and make sense (I hope).

“Another body was discovered early this morning, near Griffith Park and the I-5 Freeway and police are saying it matches the others that have been found over the last few months. Police are certain the Los Angeles area is seeing its first serial killer since 2007 and warns the community to be safe out on the streets.”

The high pitched annoying blonde from the news station rambled on, rattling my brain, I smashed the power button on the tv to shut her up. She made it sound like there were many bodies discovered, when in actuality, the police had only discovered three over the last 8 months. All the same; prostitutes, drugged, raped, stabbed and strangled to death, their bodies bleached and cleaned of prints, left in random places, posed. This one in particular propped up against a pole, tied to it. Police had no leads, no clues, and all they could do was warn the public to be careful, especially the sex workers out there, while the public awaited a ridiculous name to call this one. It was intriguing to see what stupid name they would come up with. There would no doubt be more bodies... in time.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

I'm sharing something new, something I'm slooowly working on. It's tentatively called Blood Wine. That name will probably change. Anyway, this story is about Anton Pierce, a young, handsome, wealthy winery owner and artist – who also happens to be a vampire- who falls for a woman named, Charlotte, at the art museum. He is immediately drawn to her not just for her beauty but because she is so bold and sassy. His true identity must not ever be revealed to her. Together they start a fiery romance laced with dom/sub dynamic. The story alternates between each of their points of view.

Where we last left off, Anton demanded to see his art exhibit before the opening. This picks right up from Anton holding the door open for her...

I mouthed thanks and walked in, he followed behind.
“Your feet really need a rest don’t they?” He mentioned.
“Yeah, these aren’t the most comfortable platform shoes to be in for more than a few hours.” I replied as I continued to clomp through the gallery, these shoes feeling more like bricks. As we walked around the outside of the auditorium, I turned to him.
“No complaining.” I said with attitude before bringing him around the corner.
He held his hands up and shook his head, “I promise.”
I held my hands out in ta-da motion, at the tables holding his bottles of fine wines and then continued walking into the gallery.

Where we last left off, Anton was about to demand something of Charlotte...

"I must demand that you show me the gallery that my work is in.” He said with a smile.
“You haven’t seen the gallery yet?!” I said, surprised that Jonathan hadn’t have shown him as soon as he walked in.
Mr. Pierce shook his head.
I grabbed my phone and looked at the time.
“Okay, we have about ten minutes before the guests arrive.”
I opened the door to the main gallery, holding it open for Mr. Pierce; he reached over my head and grabbed onto the door.
“After you.” He said, holding the door, rather, for me.

What will happen...he might possibly be alone with her? Thanks for reading! You can read more amazing authors here and here.

(Creative punctuation definitely used)

I busied myself with organizing for the morning shift, trying to put the handsome Mr. Pierce out of my mind. As I worked, I couldn’t help but look up every few minutes to see what Mr. Pierce was up to. I finished organizing and went to look up, only Mr. Pierce was standing in front of the desk; I jumped back, a little startled.
“I apologize, I did not mean to frighten you.”
“It’s okay. You’re so quiet though, but I wasn’t paying attention either.”
“I didn’t want to disturb whatever you were doing, you looked a bit lost in thought.”
“I was just organizing for tomorrow morning.” I said, although it took longer for me to organize simply because I was lost in thought...about him. “Well, I need to be demanding at the moment."

Oooo what will he demand? Thanks for reading! You can read more amazing authors here and here.

“Perfect,” I smiled, “now enough of my unprofessionalism...I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be, I deal with boring by the book professionals every single day, its nice to meet someone with sense of humor and attitude.”
Jonathan once again, called Mr. Pierce’s name. He acknowledged Jonathan and turned back to me.
“If you would excuse me, Miss Charlotte.” He reached for my hand, “It was a pleasure to meet you.”
He gently kissed the back of my hand.
“Likewise, Mr. Pierce.” I smiled.

“Anton.” He said, staring at me before walking off.

Mr. Pierce cocked an eyebrow. “Well, I do apologize Miss Charlotte, that I had to request a later than usual reception, my schedule can get a bit crazy sometimes.”
His accent really slipped through when he said my name and the way he had said Miss, I trying my best not to melt.
“Please don’t apologize, it’s really not your fault. I apologize for my attitude, it’s just...me. Please let me know if there is anything you need or anything I can get you, I’ll be stuck to that desk most of the night.”
“Well, I can be very demanding when I want to be. But I assure you I don’t need much, I’m not like most artists who will complain that everything is wrong.”
I wasn’t sure if he was referring to his wine business dealings or something else. I honestly had hoped he meant it in other ways; stop thinking dirty thoughts, I told myself.

This week's snippet skips a little ahead from last week, where Charlotte introduces herself.

“Hi, Mr. Pierce,” I smiled, “I’m Charlotte.” I must have sounded like a robot with a pre-recorded message, giving him a standard intro that everyone was giving him, but I was trying to act professional.
He smiled, shaking my hand. I felt bad, my hands were always so damn cold, but his was just as cold, probably from having just been outside.

“Please, no Mr. Pierce, call me Anton.” He said. I noticed he had a very slight accent, not American.
“Okay.” I replied, what came next out of my mouth wasn’t even embarrassing, since it came out so natural and with my attitude, as if it were a warning to him. “Well, I’m your personal servant...slave...assistant tonight.”
“Sorry.” I added, sorry but not.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday! I'm kind of back, here and there. I hope everyone is well and I have missed you guys!

Together they start a fiery romance laced with dom/sub dynamic. The story alternates between each of their points of view.

This is at the beginning of the story where Charlotte sees Anton for the first time. Charlotte is the Admissions Desk Representative and the art museum is holding an artist reception for Anton. She is at her desk with Dana, a co-worker...

She asked to borrow a pen to write something down, as she wrote, I happened to look up and a see a man walk through the front entrance. He was tall, nicely built, with dark hair that was styled longish past his ear on one side and short on the other; he had wide steel plug earrings in both ears. He was dressed all in black; black suit styled pants, black shirt, and a black suit jacket, all with a gothic flare. The kind of clothing I was usually into...damn.

“That’s Anton Pierce?” I asked.
Dana looked up. “Yup.” She said nonchalantly and went back to writing, not impressed by him. He looked in my direction and slightly smiled before Jonathan ran up to him to give him details about the night.

Thanks for reading! Some of you might have read some of this before as I was sharing snippets on the MidWeek Tease blog hop. And since I have my kiddos today, I will read & comment on Wednesday or Thursday.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday! And Happy 1st day of Autumn!

Where we last left off, Armani made a point that two feet of bed between them wasn't going to protect her from him. Karlea began to think dirty thoughts before falling fast asleep...

Armani watched the rising and falling of her chest as she slept, listening in on her steady heartbeat. So perfectly human, he thought. There was so much he had to share with her and tell her, but he needed her level of resistance to drop a few pegs. He admired her strong will to show him she had a choice in matters. She was easily the strongest human he had ever come across. But he was certain that her game of doing the exact opposite of what he said was going to drive him insane, and in a more serious situation, get her killed.

He had sensed what his words of bending her to his will, had done to her. Turning her on instantly. He was determined to get her to release her dark and dirty side with him. Again, her resistance to him needing to be knocked down a few pegs, but the attraction was there.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off, Armani made a point that two feet of bed between them wasn't going to protect her...

She went to respond but stayed silent, the way he had said, 'bend her to his will', made her think dirty thoughts and feel things, her body betraying her. She settled back into the pillows, trying her best to ignore it. When she opened her eyes, Armani had closed the gap between them.
"You know I sensed that, right?" He asked, looking at her.
"Yeah, I know." She replied.
"Get some sleep, you'll need your rest to keep resisting."
Armani kissed her gently on her forehead. Karlea sunk into the comfiness of his memory foam bed and fell fast asleep.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!
Where we last left off, Karlea was edging herself as close to the end of the bed as she could, trying to make everything hard for Armani, no matter how ridiculous it might be. He last line was that she didn't have to sleep on the edge of the bed, Karlea speaks first...

"I know."
"I mean, you shouldn't practically fall off the bed, just because you don't want to be near me, we're adults, I think we can handle it." Armani said, as he typed a text message on his phone.

"No, I'm human, you're a vampire, I can't trust you." She said.
Armani looked up from his phone and chuckled.
"Yes, because two feet of bed is going to protect you when I can be next you faster than you blink and completely bend you to my will...if I chose to.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

We continue where we left of two weeks ago. Karlea is driving Armani a bit crazy...

Armani rubbed his temples and let out another breath. "At least take off the tattered thing before climbing into bed."
"Fine." She said, before climbing back off the bed. She tugged on the dress, it pooled around her feet easily. She grabbed the sheet she had dropped on the floor earlier and wrapped herself in it.

"You were the one who tattered the thing in the first place."
"Yes, I am well aware." He said with a slight smile, as he watched her climb back up on the bed and take a place next to him, only with the biggest gap she could manage between them before almost falling off the bed.
Armani rolled his eyes, "You do know that we did way more intimate and devious things last night and this morning, that you don't have to sleep on the edge of the bed?"

Thanks for reading! I'll try to make it around to as many snippets as I can, I'm a bit under the weather this weekend. Being sick in the summer is so much worse than in the winter. :(

WeWriWa o8.12.18

Welcome to another week of Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off, Karlea was driving Armani crazy by being defiant. He recommended she get some more sleep, and she refused...

"You're lucky I'm in a nice mood, so I'm going to let that slide. Tomorrow, however, will be a very different story." Armani said. "Let me just remind you that although you feel great right now, your body is still human. It will collapse from exhaustion, you had quite a night last night."
"Don't remind me." Karlea replied as she stepped towards the bed, starting to climb up on the bunched up comforter.
"What are you doing?"

"Taking a nap." She answered with a 'duh' tone to her voice.

I think she's determined to drive him crazy in every sort of way she can. ;)

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off, Armani was telling Karlea that he wasn't going to take her back to Manhattan for her clothes, instead he would just buy her new ones...

"I suggest you get some more sleep and get on vampire hours. I'm taking you out for a night on the town, all night." Armani said, putting his feet up on the bed.
"I'm good." Karlea replied.
Armani rolled his eyes, "Going to fight me on everything, I see."

"Yup. Why not?" Karlea smiled.
Armani let out a long breath that he didn't need to survive, but with her he did...

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off, Karlea and Armani were drinking from each other...
Armani gently pulled away from her neck as she pulled away from his wrist, both of them using their fingers to wipe the blood off their lips as they faced each other.
Karlea shook her head, "This is my life now."

"Its not so bad." Armani winked; he eyed her torn dress. "As much as I would love to have you running around here naked all the time, you need some new clothes."
"I have clothes, they're in Manhattan." Karlea said with her attitude.
"I'm not taking you back there, just to get your clothes, when I can buy you all new ones."

"Right." She replied, rolling her eyes.

Ughh...I wanted to post more, but this is 10 and I have to stop.

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

We continue on where we left off last week, where Karlea told Armani that she wasn't going to make anything easy for him...

"Besides, "Armani added, raising an eyebrow, "I never said I didn't have ways of handling you when you don't make things easy."
Karlea narrowed her eyes at him as Armani raised his wrist to his mouth, biting it. He walked over to Karlea, wrapping his bleeding wrist around the front of her as he stood behind her.
"You best drink." He commanded. "The withdrawal symptoms you're feeling are only going to get worse and more intense.
She wanted to resist but she needed it, she placed her lips on his wound and let the blood run down her throat, a moan escaping Armani.
He pushed her hair to the side and whispered in her ear, "So our journey begins."
He planted a few soft kisses on her neck before sucking on her skin, his fangs entering her as he did.
