Six Sentence Sunday o1.27.13

Welcome to the last "official" Six Sentence Sunday :(
I was tempted to write "The Last" in my title instead of the date, but I'm still going to post six every week. Although, I will not be using the image above anymore to start my post - it is not mine to use :)

I'm really hoping that Skye Warren is going to start hosting SSS next week! If not, then you can surely bet that if someone doesn't pick it up, I will.
If anyone knows of someone else hosting a SSS, please let me know. Or if no one does and you are interested in posting each Sunday, drop me a comment here or email me Siren.A.Star@gmail.com. Just make sure to leave me your name and a way for me to contact you.

Oh, I also have a favor to ask to all of you more seasoned writers than I, who seem to always be turning out books (that's so awesome!) I am trying to write a summary of my book (which is still a WIP) mainly for a Kickstarter project I'm doing. Would any of you be willing to read my summary and critique/offer suggestions for improvement? My story is not like any popular vampire stories of today, but I don't want my summary to sound like it is every other vamp novel out there. Please email me if you can do this! I will be forever grateful and will return the favor! Thanks, guys, you all rock! And I am honored to have shared my Sundays with you for the past year I have been doing this! I have met some really cool people/amazing authors and I plan to stay in touch, SSS or not.

And a quick apology; I have not gotten around to reading your sixes from last week! So sorry! But I plan on reading last week's and this week's together, and will try to do it earlier in the week (I usually spend Saturday mornings reading your sixes). So fear not, I will read and comment! I am addicted to your stories anyways!

And on a side note, the Berkeley Hills had a small earthquake on Friday! This is the first since I've moved here (I think). But I DID NOT feel anything!!!! My friend felt it and was the one that let me know and she lives only up the street from me. I'm kinda :( I want to feel an earthquake, a small one, it will make me feel more Californian ;)

Now for more K & A, as I like to call them. Last week, Karlea told Armani to finish it...

Armani looked at her as he slowly put his hand behind her head. He positioned her neck slightly, still looking at her before sinking his fangs into her throat. A very quiet moan escaped her. She closed her eyes, waiting to enter blackness forever.
Armani pulled away quickly, pulling his wrist from his sleeve. Without thinking twice, he quickly bit his wrist, moaning slightly in pain, and let a drop of his blood fall into her wound. Any more than a drop would make her too strong.
"No." Karlea attempted to yell out unsuccessfully.
She gasped. Within those seconds, her wound from the stake healed itself and her bite marks. Her strength was the last to return as she sat up, the healing process done. She stared at Armani, catching her breath, afraid of what was to come next...

And you all thought it was the end for Karlea! It is only the beginning!

Thanks for reading and please comment - I love reading comments!

Six Sentence Sunday o1.2o.13

Welcome to another Six Sentence Sunday. Are you excited? I'm excited ;)

Its 5-whatever am here and I am always making myself get up this early everyday to get in some alone work/write time. I find I am slacking off by the evenings and can't keep up with my family because of it, but at least I get some time in to myself in the mornings before everyone wakes up.

Today will be spent with the kids eating pizza and drinking soda (I never let them have soda unless its a party) and watching the 49ers-Falcons game. Go 49ers! I hate football! But  since the Giants took the Series home, I figured it would be pretty cool if the 49ers took the SuperBowl - Go San Fran, this city rocks! Also, they are playing in Atlanta, where I lived before this. I never had any team spirit for the Atlanta teams while I lived there. If by some chance the Falcons do win, I will be rooting for them, since I lived there. This is kind of a really cool game for me today and I'm excited to watch and celebrate with my kids. Oh, and also my dad's favorite team has always been the 49ers, since Joe Montana was on the team. So, I will be thinking of him as I watch the game. I wish he could visit me in SF and I would gladly take him to a 49ers game. Maybe next season.

Okay, so I bet you are waiting for more Karlea and Armani...here we go.

Where we last left off Karlea was dying :( Sorry, guys.

The pain was just too much and Karlea immediately wished for death. The blood felt so warm as it left her, her body so cold, a cold she had never experienced before. Her head was spinning and she was starting go into the blackness forever. She touched her wound and could feel the warm blood that covered her hand. She weakly reached for Armani and put her blood covered fingers on his lips - his eyes changing to red immediately.
"You're wasting it. Finish it." She weakly said so quietly that only his vampire hearing would hear it. She exposed her neck for him, waiting for him to take it and make death come faster for her.

oops, you got 3 extra sentences there, but I had to so it worked. I think its kinda sexy she wants him to finish it. I guess she always wanted to die from a vampire bite ;)

I guess we will finish off Karlea next week, trust me you don't want to miss this!

Thanks for reading! And please comment! I love reading your comments and will always comment back on yours!

Six Sentence Sunday o1.13.13

Only two more Sundays until SSS ends :(
I will still be posting every Sunday as if it is still going on. I hope other sixers will, too!

This week totally sucked. I liked being home with all my kids on vacation way better. And I can tell by my older boys' attitudes that they liked being home as a family, too, which usually they love going to school. The two weeks they were on vacation, I managed to accomplish a lot, which I thought I would get nothing done with everyone home. But I was disciplined and got up everyday between 4:30 and 5am to work before they got up. This week, I feel like I accomplished nothing other than getting my 5 year old registered for his brother's school next year, and getting my hair cut (its shorter than I've had it in a long time, but still needs to be dyed; black & turquoise before I post pics). No writing, no Kickstarter...nothing. I had time to sit at a cafe this week, but just couldn't focus at all.

So, I will just breathe and try to re-focus. And will start with this week's six ;)
Picking right up from last week...where Armani had the stake pointed at her throat...

He continued to drag the stake down, between her breasts and to her abdomen. He let it linger there before finally taking it away, and letting go of her hair. Armani heard her breathe relief, but moments later he had her gasping for air from the pain of the stake he had driven into her. He took her hand and carefully helped her to the floor, where she leaned against the wall, dying. He kneeled in front of her, slightly saddened by the sight of her dying, and put his head against hers and his arm around her for comfort as he pulled the stake from her side; tears falling down her face as he did. "I know how much it hurts," he said as she buried her face into his shoulder. <----- i="i">He so must be getting off on this.

It really not looking good for Karlea's life. Although, I bet she is relieved that she won't have to deal with Armani anymore. She went to the club looking or Jake and got Death instead, but she knew how dangerous it was to go alone.

Don't worry, there is still more next week ;)

Thanks for reading! And please comment, I love reading your comments!

Six Sentence Sunday o1.o6.13

Happy 2013!!! Its strange writing 2013, I think this is the first time I have dated something this year.

The holidays were relaxing, but now they are over, and we go back to the usual routine of  school tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it at all. School days are extremely stressful for me - 3 kids, 3 different schools, and two little ones that have to get up from nap before they are ready to go with me. Oh, and in East Bay traffic which includes crazy drivers, bicyclists that don't follow rules, and pedestrians that walk out in front of your car. And my three year old is sick. We were all sick the week before the holidays, and now she somehow is sick again, and we didn't even go out of the house this week. So, now I'm hoping my other kids don't get it.

So, I've been working really hard on my Kickstarter campaign for the last two weeks, even with everyone home, and it is almost finished. It needs to be proofread and I need to make a video. But I am so excited about it! I just want to write this story instead of spending my time writing Kickstarter.

I also spent my time building a facebook page, g+ page, and a twitter account for Armani. So, please feel free to follow/like any or all of them :) I should update them weekly, I hope.

When we last left Armani and Karlea, he had a stake pointed at her throat....

"I despise these things. Do you have any idea how much these things hurt when they miss your heart?" Armani shouted.
"No." Karlea replied quietly.
"Of course you don't, you're human," Armani dragged the stake across her throat, waiting for the perfect moment, "So preciously human," he hissed.

I missed with the punctuation to make it fit into six, so its not exactly how it should be in the last line. But I had to make it all fit or it just wouldn't work as a snippet.

Just as a reminder, I will still be posting SSS every week even after it ends, whether or not someone decides to host a SSS. I heard that Skye Warren may do so, but I don't know for sure.  So, please follow my blog if you want or just remember to come by each week. I thought about hosting a SSS, but I don't know if I should. Any thoughts?

Thanks for reading and please comment! I love reading comments and will always reply back and comment on your six, if you have one.

Have a great week. Its 2013 - do something fabulous!!! (This is my motto for the year :)
