WeWriWa 11.24.13

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday, Thanksgiving edition! I'm excited for Thanksgiving, now that I live far from family, this will be my third year staying at home with my little family and cooking! Which is good because I don't think anyone would really accommodate my vegan/no alcohol diet.

I still have to make my dinner list and go shopping for food. Last year, I think I made too many different things. It sucks having to make a vegan and a non-vegan(the rest of the family is not vegan) meal but I'm going to try to simplify it better. And this year our friend will be celebrating with us, so I will have help in the kitchen.

Last week, we left off where Karlea was, now by choice (since she really didn't have one), drinking a large quantity of Armani's blood - which will bond her to him for the rest of the time she remains human and will make their vampire-sire bond even stronger when he does turn her, unless he decides to torture her and keep her human ;)

Armani regained his grip on the back of her head and forced the wound back into her mouth. As she began to drink, Armani loosened his grip once again.
The blood flow was so heavy at first that Karlea did her best to keep up, but she started to choke again. Armani slightly pulled his wrist away to let her catch up.Surprising to Armani, she looked at him when she was okay again, letting him know to put his wrist back into her mouth. He did as he was told and he watched her with adoration as she continued to drink, until Armani had to pull away because he was getting too weak from the blood loss.
"That's enough." He said weakly.

Two weeks until AFI!
They announced more tour dates for January, unfortunately none in California. They are playing in Atlanta, my old stomping ground, and I would love to be at that show. The closest to California is Tucson, Arizona. So, I am currently comparing the cost of flying to Atlanta to the cost of renting a car and driving to Tucson. I have to be at one of these shows :)
I am hoping that one or both of my friends would want to go to the Arizona show, so we can split the cost for things.

I am still bruised from the Negative Approach show, by the way. That was fun.

I wish everyone who celebrates, a Happy Thanksgiving! And a Happy Hanukkah!

WeWriWa 11.17.13

Welcome, welcome, welcome to another Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off Karlea started to accept her fate with Armani...

Karlea kept up with the flow pretty well, but his wound was slowly closing. When it was almost closed, Armani pulled his wrist away. Karlea caught as much air as she could.
"Good, Karlea." He said as she watched him rip his wrist back open.
"I don't know how much more I can drink." Karlea said quietly.
"You're doing good, most humans can't stomach that much."

Let the bonding begin ;) She is giving up everything for this, but she really doesn't have a choice.

In other news: 3 weeks until I see AFI again! I am so excited! But liking the anticipation of the show because once its over, I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. The world doesn't exist after this show, unless I can somehow follow them to South America or Australia. If i had the $, I would.DxH's birthday is this week, too, the day after my son's.

I went to the Negative Approach/The Casualties show at the Metro last night. It was crazy! I like NA more than the Casualties, but the Casualties energy onstage was like nothing I have ever seen, which transcended onto the crowd. The bands hung out in the crowd too, which is always cool. When I first walked in, John Brannon stood next to me and give me a nice smile, and I have to say, wow, can he still scream out his vocals on stage, I was impressed. I saw two old friends from Rochester that I wasn't expecting to see, I had beer accidentally spilled all over me because of the mosh pit, toes stomped on, elbowed in my ribs and back, punched in the stomach from some dude in the pit, and pushed into the pit. It was a great night! I would not expect anything less from a punk show! And I have to admit that I love it all, it gets me pumped and empowered, and its fun to let out some aggression. And as always, it seemed as I was the only one not drinking and wearing my straightedge x's.

WeWriWa 11.1o.13

Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday time! I hope everyone had a fabulous week and that those that are doing NaNoWriMo are finding a ton of creativity and inspiration to keep going, you can do it!

This week's snippet we continue on from last week where Armani was about to force feed her his blood.

He held Karlea tightly as he brought his wrist to her mouth, he forced it between her lips. She tried to struggle, but he was right, it was useless, she couldn't move. She instead resisted swallowing the blood, spitting it back out, but the blood flow was so heavy, she started to choke on it. Armani pulled his wrist slightly out of her mouth, not wanting her to choke to death, the blood dripping down her and on the floor. He waited for Karlea to recover and start breathing again, before forcing his wrist back into her mouth, Karlea felt like she was drowning.
Karlea said a quick goodbye to her life as she knew it, in her head. She stopped struggling and accepted her fate, swallowing the blood. As he felt her stop struggling, Armani loosened his grip on her, pleased that she was swallowing the blood on her own accord.

I guess the new chapter of Karlea's life will begin.

WeWriWa 11.o2.13

Happy November! I hope you all celebrated a lovely Halloween! I wanted to celebrate Samhain with a fire in the fire pit and a nice little celtic pagan ritual, but I was so tired from the week that I just didn't have it in me. I'll make up for it soon. I did, however, dress up as Katy Perry!
So, now its November and I am beginning to feel the holiday spirit :) I love this time of the year!

Okay, last week, we left off with Armani telling Karlea that either way she was going to consume more of his blood...
"You are tired, dehydrated, and hungry, even if all those needs were met, you would still feel like crap - all of my blood that you drank last night is already taking its hold on you. You will be dependent on my blood for the rest of your human life. I'm really surprised Jake didn't blood bond you already, maybe he's a good one or maybe he was just unsure."
With that comment, Karlea tried to pull away, but Armani tightened his grip on her, only allowing her to look him in the eye.
"I am not unsure. So, let's get this over with..."
Armani's eyes changed to red, his fangs showing, Karlea closed her eyes as he bit his free wrist. Karlea opened them in time to watched him rip the wound open, his own blood dripping down his mouth and down his arm.

This isn't looking good for her ;)

I apologize for the squished formatting with my snippets lately. I switched my book over to a google doc and every time I copy/paste an excerpt, the text is all squished. I would think with google owning Blogger too, that it would copy over with no formatting problems :(

The AFI show in Santa Cruz was epic! I purposely ended up in the pit and pushed my way to the front by the time AFI took the stage. DxH was stunning! And beautiful! And inspiring! I waited outside, in the rain, for nearly 2 hours to meet them afterward. I'm still trying to process it all. Hearts, hearts, hearts! (Blogger won't let me type out a heart)
