WeWriWa o9.23.18

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday! And Happy 1st day of Autumn!

Where we last left off, Armani made a point that two feet of bed between them wasn't going to protect her from him. Karlea began to think dirty thoughts before falling fast asleep...

Armani watched the rising and falling of her chest as she slept, listening in on her steady heartbeat. So perfectly human, he thought. There was so much he had to share with her and tell her, but he needed her level of resistance to drop a few pegs. He admired her strong will to show him she had a choice in matters. She was easily the strongest human he had ever come across. But he was certain that her game of doing the exact opposite of what he said was going to drive him insane, and in a more serious situation, get her killed.

He had sensed what his words of bending her to his will, had done to her. Turning her on instantly. He was determined to get her to release her dark and dirty side with him. Again, her resistance to him needing to be knocked down a few pegs, but the attraction was there.

Thanks for reading! You can read more amazing authors here and here.

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. I'm really torn about his intense desire to destroy the strength of the strongest human he's known. Even if he has good intentions, isn't he being overbearingly paternalistic? The vampire's equivalent of The White Man's Burden?

  2. He admires her strength and yet he seems to determined to bend her to his will. I'm thinking he may have met his match. I'm curious to find out how this will all play out.

  3. This has me curious too, she's certainly one strong willed lady, and it looks like he's not going to have things all his own way. Great snippet!

  4. Typical guy. He wants a strong woman, but not one who is stronger than him. Interesting thought processes going on here.

  5. I think he enjoys the challenge and that's her saving grace. Once he breaks her, the interest will be gone. Hang in there, girl!

  6. I think two strong-willed people/vampires can work well together if they want. Can accomplish many things.

  7. I hope, for him, she stays strong, otherwise he'll become bored and move on. Her resistance is an aphrodisiac for him.

  8. Her resistance -- and his ignoring her resistance -- makes him kind of too much like a rapist. No means No.
