Harajuku Kiss by Linda Hamonou

Hi everyone! How is your week going?
I am trying something new this week that I'm hoping to do more often on this blog, and that is hosting other authors with works to promote. So the very first author is someone I know from Weekend Writing Warriors (WeWriWa) and Snippet Sunday - please welcome Linda Hamonou with her new book,
Harajuku Kiss.

About Harajuku Kiss
At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.
Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Author Bio:

Born in November 1983 in Brittany, France, Linda Hamonou spent a lot of time lost in Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels. She entered university to study physics and obtained her PhD at Queen's University Belfast in 2009. Her studies allowed her to travel to Europe and America. She then moved to Japan and after three years doing research in Tokyo, she is currently doing a new postdoc in Sendai, Japan.

Excerpt:
The first time they had taken him there, he found it comical.
Do you know that there is seven floors up to Heaven and seven floors down to Hell? Going down to the eighth floor, you must be leading me to some different sort of Hell,” he had said.
And he had laughed and they had laughed as well. It seemed like a funny joke to make at the time, something to create a nice atmosphere between him and his employers, but it wasn’t funny anymore.
The elevator stopped on the fifth floor underground for a few seconds. It was always stopping there for no reason. Kaji had never stepped out on that floor or any other floors in the almost full year he had been working for the company, he had just gone down, straight to Hell. The door opened to a dark corridor, the same as his minus the light and with a strong smell of ammonium. He was still happy not to work here, the smell would have given him a headache if he had stayed longer. Once again, nobody appeared and Kaji pressed the button to close the door without bothering to look outside, this gesture had become a habit.
The elevator stopped at destination this time. He remembered the first time he had been here. After the Hell joke, it had seemed more like a paradise. The light was as bright as in the elevator. It was supposed to imitate the sunshine at noon.
"For better mood and performances," his employers had said.

WeWriWa o7.20.14

Welcome to another edition of Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday! Well I guess it is only Snippet Sunday this week, since I was late posting and WeWriWa took my name down. Oh well, shit happens and I'm even thankful for the posts I do get out on time.

Where we last left off, Armani made a toast to their future. This picks up right when he made the toast.

Karlea stared at him. They sipped their wine, Armani watched as Karlea drank down her wine quickly. He disappeared and returned with the bottle of wine, refilling her glass.
"Thank you," Karlea said with a breathy voice, obviously feeling more of the euphoria.
Armani shook his head in acknowledgement, he listened to the swing tune playing on the stereo. He smiled, reaching for Karlea's glass; he set both glasses down and then quickly scooped Karlea off of her feet as she screamed. He set her back down in the middle of the room, taking both of her hands in his, he began to swing her around in perfect swing dance fashion. Karlea laughed and screamed as the room spun around her.

Thanks for reading and please comment, I love reading your comments! Also, if anyone wants to share there writing schedule - you know, between work, family, school, etc., please share, I'm all for listening ;)

WeWriWa o7.13.14

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors?Snippet Sunday! I hope you are having an awesome weekend!

This week we jump ahead just a little from where we left off last week. Where we left off, they were about to dance to an old Renaissance tune. One that involved no physical touching, just hands facing each other and lots of spinning in a circle. Armani had to emphasize that touching would come later ;) Of which, he broke tradition mid-song to pick her up and spin her.
After they dance, Armani suggests some wine....
(First line is Karlea's)

"Did you spike it?"
"Not unless you want me too."
"Why not? Maybe it will help me to let go."
Armani grinned, the blood was getting addicting. He set down his glass and forced his eyes to change to red. He let Karlea see his fangs before he bit his wrist. He placed his hand over hers on the wine glass and tipped it slightly to catch the blood. Once the wound healed, he picked up his glass.
"To our future." Armani said as he initiated toasting their glasses.

Nice toast, Armani. hehehe. So, what will happen next? Thanks for reading and please comment, I love reading your comments. And if anyone has the time and feels like sharing their writing schedule or art schedule, please do. I am trying to see how other writers & artists balance work, college, family, etc. with your writing/art time. And thanks in advance!

WeWriWa o7.o6.14

Its Sunday! It must be time for Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday! Yay!

Where we last left off, Armani is trying to romance Karlea by dancing with her around the living room. And she might just be warming up to him. Last week, they had just finished dancing to a song.

"You should really drink some water, keep your core temperature down," Armani said, grabbing the bottle of water from earlier off the end table.
Karlea looked at the bottle as Armani handed it to her, it was still spiked with his blood, but at this point it didn't seem to matter. Karlea took a sip and realized how thirsty she was, she drank the whole bottle down before she knew it, his blood in it adding to her high.
An orchestral song came on, Armani grabbed onto Karlea and swung her around in a ballroom dance, lifting her up and over furniture as it became in the way. Karlea laughed, enjoying herself.
When the song ended, he stopped and waited for the next; a very upbeat orchestral piece.
"Ah, this song is very old, I'm quite fond of it. Here, follow my lead," He said. Is it working? Is he charming her yet?

Thanks for reading! And please comment, I love reading your comments, it helps me with the story :)

I started doing Camp NaNoWriMo this week for this novel and so far it is keeping me writing everyday. Since I started writing this story, I would be lucky to write a paragraph a week, Camp has made me find the time to write everyday, so for this week I have been writing a few paragraphs a day :) I won't have this whole novel written by the time the month is over, but at least I am making better progress. I know most of you readers who are writers on WeWriWa probably write way more than that per day, but my life is totally crazy and its hard to find time, although all I want to do is write this story. If you have the time, please share your writing schedule with me, so I can see how you balance work, college, family, etc. with your writing time. And thanks in advance!
