Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Continuing on with my serial killer WIP, Dennis is still at the club...

I finished my drink, grabbed my keys, and went to the restroom to adjust myself and take a piss. Late nighters were beginning to fill into the club, so it was getting a little busy. It was Friday, that meant all types came out looking for a good time, even in this dirty club; the usual regulars, college frat boys, couples, husbands that didn’t want to return home to their wives, and since there was a game tonight, Dodger fans would trickle in when they got bored of the game. Fridays and Saturdays were pretty busy and although the money was good, seemed to be the biggest headache for the dancers. There was always a lot of pushy men with money, and a lot of unwanted groping. The other girls seemed to handle it better than Serena, they just wanted the money and would pretty much do whatever to get it. Serena was not shy to say no, unwilling to go past with what she was comfortable with. She needed the money, but also needed her job and was afraid to break the rules of the club. The other girls were favored and could get away with things, however, Serena was not.

She had started here over a year ago and she was so shy at first, being at a new place. She quickly opened up, at least to me, and I visited her every night she worked since.

Thanks for reading! You can read more amazing authors here and here.

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. I am so curious about their relationship and whether he's a good guy or the bad guy. lol Who knows? You might be getting the readers to look right--at him, and really off to the left, she's the serial killer. Way to keep us guessing!

  2. I'm the same as Teresa. He seems to know an awful lot about her. More than a regular customer would. And is he good or bad? Very curious!

  3. I'm with the others. Good guy or not? Hmmm?

  4. I'm wondering if Dennis might be planning to give some of the guys who give Serena a hard time a painful (and fatal) lesson.
    Tweeted the post.

  5. I find this character fascinating and wondering what his true motivations toward her are. Good snippet.
