WeWriWa o4.26.15

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday!
I couldn't be more happier to be writing this post from Santa Monica, near the beach! I could so get used to this.

This week, we will just continue on from two weeks ago, as always. Do I even need to state this anymore? Or mention that its edited to fit?

Karlea stepped into the shower as Armani gracefully pulled off his pants, leaving his briefs on; she was so warm that the cool water felt like it was evaporating as soon as it hit her skin. Armani used his speed to appear behind her; he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into him as he adjusted the water to artic cold. It didn't take long for her to feel it; after a minute she involuntarily pressed her body against Armani for warmth as if he was capable of providing any. Armani felt her naked flesh against his, it made him smile, but he was also losing every ounce of control he had. Karlea began to shiver, Armani waited until he sensed her burning blood return to a normal human temperature, and then turned the water to warm - allowing her to get too cold would not have been good for her either. Karlea stopped shivering after being under the water for bit, but she kept her body pressed against him; Armani knew she was doing this on purpose.
"I don't have much control left in me," Armani said through gritted teeth, losing his grip.
"Oh," Karlea replied as she pressed herself harder into Armani, grabbing onto his arm that was still around her, and digging her nails in.

I think she might have just driven him over the edge. What do you think? That was pretty intense, I kinda just wrote that in. Matches the intensity of working in Santa Monica :D

Vampire Friday o4.17.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday, definitely my favorite day of the week!

We are going to continue right where we left off last week...

Jake swiftly strolled through Virtu Nightclub, looking for Vaughn. The club seemed unusually packed for a Thursday night, although Jake had only been there once before a long time ago. He sniffed the air as he weaved in and out of crowds of club goers, trance/electronica blaring from the dance floor in the other room. Just as he had thought: a good portion of the crowd were vampires. He remembered that the vampire VIP club, Flesh, had a small fire the night before and was shut down for repairs. The owner of Virtu, Matt, had opened his club to them until the repairs were done.
By listening to his blood, he quickly found Vaughn sitting at a booth, a pretty human woman on each side of him. Jake noticed that the women dressed more like escorts than club goers, but he wasn't going to bother to ask Vaughn were he found these two. Vaughn enjoyed what he was, but he was also very careful about finding 'donors" that would have good tasting blood. No hookers or drug addicts, whose blood was riddled with disease, which made it taste like what lemon juice would taste to humans if they drank it straight.
Vaughn's face lit up when he saw Jake in front of him. Vaughn was well dressed in his rock star getup tonight: black leather pants, black leather biker boots,  black band t-shirt of The NY Undead( a band that his record company manages), a leather spiked biker cuff on each wrist, a metal chain and dragon's claw pendant around his neck, and his dark sunglasses holding his light brown chin length wavy hair out of his face. This was his casual dress and not his record company owner business which then consisted of black or dark red velvet Victorian suits. Vaughn definitely dressed the part of a vampire, Jake only sometimes if he wanted to look really nice.
"I knew the pictures and video would tempt you out here." Vaugh said' "You have to live a little bit now that you're back in Manhattan with me."
"Yeah, well, it won't be all the time like it used to be." Jake replied.
"Ladies, this is Jake and we have a rich history together." Vaughn smiled remembering the old times."Jake, this Cindy and Jenna."
Each girl waved and smiled as Vaughn said their name. Jake smiled at both of them, not really wanting to acknowledge them more than that; they weren't why he was here.
"So, which one of you would like to be Jake's for the night?" Vaughn asked them.

Thursday Tasters o4.16.15

Welcome to Thursday Tasters!

This week continues right where we left off last week in some serial killer story I started.

I had a secret place I kept the photographs and video tapes. I had a small darkroom in one of the rooms of the basement. I enjoyed traditional photography; fine art, nature, and landscape photography. I occasionally showed my work in galleries, but my favorite portraits were work that would see the light of day. I could probably pull it off as a model dressed up for the scenes as Thomas Coltraine often does. Or John Hasselburger. But that would be risky, too risky. But it did work out that I had my own darkroom to print these images. Digital was another stupid way to go and I will not touch it for my "work", too much to trace.
I got up off the floor and went into the bathroom, preparing the bath for her. I watched the bathtub fill until it was at the desired height. I carried her in and dropped her into the bathtub. She sank down a few inches to the bottom. I went back into the main room of the basement and collected the knife I had used to end her life. I threw it in the bath with her to remove all evidence.
I would let her soak for awhile, a long while. I would start the long process of cleaning up my mess that would take most of the night.

Thanks for reading and please comment, I love reading your comments! I will get around to reading yours Friday or Saturday :)

WeWriWa o4.12.15

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday!
As I write this post, I am on a bus traveling to Los Angeles. And unfortunately the Wi-Fi on the bus isn't working, so I'm posting from my phone. I have a phablet (phone that functions as a tablet. What a stupid name!) for a reason. So I'm using it. Formatting will suck until I can fix it up later.
We are continuing right where left off last week, where Karlea stripped naked for Armani.
Armani motioned with his hand for her to step into the shower as he diverted his eyes away from her; Karlea slowly walked by him.
"What?" Karlea teased, "Being naked never hurt anyone."
Armani scrunched up his face in a desperate attempt to keep himself under control, "However in your case, it might just get you killed quicker."
"Oops," she said sarcastically as he looked back at her.
"But there's no true death for you, only human. You won't really die, you will be among the undead, and give me a vampire consort sooner than expected. As I said before, I am not unsure; I am going to kill you and I am going to turn you into a vampire. I prefer to wait but if it happens sooner, then it happens sooner."

Thanks for reading!

Vampire Friday - Let's Start Over...

Welcome to Vampire Friday! This is my favorite day of the week! Anything with vampires, totally vampire obsessed.

So, I've posted once before and for my second post, I'm going to post another version of the opening to my WIP novel, BloodLust. I left writing this book because I wrote as scene that led into me writing the second book. But at some point, I need to finish this book, too. And actually have had a few scenes pop into my head. So, here we go...the beginning all over again.

Night takes over the city, as Jake Masterson awakens. He squints at his heavily draped windows, where no light passes through. He leans over to verify with his clock that it is really night, and not the heavy drapery playing a trick on him. He sits up on his gothic wrought iron bed, and reaches for his shirt and jeans off of the dark red carpet. He quickly puts them on, and then walks over to the balcony doors that are hidden behind the heavy drapery. He pulls them back revealing glass doors. Jake walks out on his balcony overlooking Midtown Manhattan. He takes in the sight, the sounds, and the smells of the night.
Jake walks across his apartment to the kitchen, opening drapes along the way. His apartment is patterned in the same fashion as his bedroom: dark red carpet and gothic wrought iron furniture. Artwork, photographs, and sculptures adorn the walls, his apartment could be an art gallery.
Jake goes to his refrigerator, he rearranges some containers of food, and some fruits and vegetables from the front, so he can reach the back. He pulls out a nice crystal bottle that looks like it contains red wine. He gets a wine glass and pours himself a drink. After warming it up in the microwave, he gently swirls the liquid and takes a sip, making a disgusted face - he still has trouble choking it down after all these years. It is so un-satisfying he wonders how he has managed to keep ahold of himself, especially in Manhattan.
He makes his way to his office, opening a window by his desk before settling in at his computer, the city sounds always help him write. He punches in a password, taking his computer off standby. He chokes down more liquid as he stares at the half written article on his screen. He begins typing away, getting lost in his concert review until his phone buzzes and snaps his concentration. He begrudgingly picks it up and stares at the message from his friend, Vaughn. Written in all caps, it reads, "WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU INDULGED YOURSELF? DON'T YOU GET SICK OF YOUR VEGAN DIET?" Jake stares at his drink. He takes in a deep breath and lets it out, setting his phone down. He attempts to take a sip of his drink, but just cannot do it. Vaughn always knows precisely when to strike and where, even though they aren't even in the vicinity of each other. He goes back to working on his article, when his phone buzzes again. "This is how it is done..." it reads with a video attachment. Jake can't help, but to press play...
Vaughn sits in a dark corner of a nightclub with a pretty young woman. Vaughn hands his cell phone over to a male hand who continues to record the moment. Vaughn laughs and the woman smiles. Vaughn kisses the woman and quickly pulls away, revealing his vampire fangs before he sinks them into her throat. Vaughn drinks and then pulls away laughing, his eyes glowing red. The video stops. Jake throws down his phone and rubs his forehead. He forces himself to drink more, choking on it harder than he did before, but he gets it down. He tries to focus back on his article, but his concentration is all thrown off; the images in the video burning in his mind. His phone buzzes repeatedly. Jake hesitates but picks it up. Vaughn's next message reads, "Lots of pretty ladies out tonight at Virtu." Photos begin popping up on his screen. Jake scrolls through them quickly when one catches his eye. He swipes the photo back on screen and stares at it; a young woman decked out in a beautiful victorian black dress being handed a drink by a female bartender. Jake smiles. He pockets his phone and grabs his wine glass. He makes his way to the kitchen and dumps the already cold blood into the sink. Stopping here. You can read more amazing vampire authors here. Thursday Tasters

Welcome to Thursday Tasters! This is my first posting for this particular blog hop.

I am going to share with you the beginning of a story I wrote quite a bit ago.  I didn't forget about it, its always been in the back of my mind, but I've been busy working on my first novel. Then today, I was searching google Drive for a document, and I came across this and smiled. Perfect for the sharing...

Her scream echoed against the cold, plastic covered concrete... And then it ceased to exist. Her body, a bloody mess laying helpless. Soon it would be stiff and cold as rigor mortis sets in. They always seem heavier that way; so much harder to move. I’ve become used to it by now, I’m able to move them easier into their bleach bath and into their final resting place.

Still on my knees with her between them, I removed the few blood soaked strands of hair away from her face. She was pretty, especially now. She put up a good fight, but she was no match. I like it when they fight, it makes it more fun than when they just cower and scream. I try to guess which ones will be fighters, complemented by a bit of screaming. I missed her already; my only comfort is that the next one would be better still. I like that challenge, finding a girl better than the next, it drives me.
I got up and found my camera sitting on the shelf, she was too pretty to not take pictures of. I wanted to remember this one. I had taken some video of her when she was still alive. I had to be extremely careful doing this; any evidence left is never a good thing. But I couldn't help it, it was a bad obsession caught inside another bad obsession.
And I will stop there.... Thanks for reading. I will do my best to read the others, trying to work out a new schedule with all this new blog hopping and commenting. And by the way, this story has no title as of yet.

WeWriWa o4.o5.15

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors/Snippet Sunday!

This week picks up right where we left off last week. If you didn't read it, you can find it here. The following excerpt is soooo edited to fit (hey, I had to get some good stuff in there).
Armani led her back out and to the spiral staircase; they walked up and into Armani’s loft bedroom that overlooked the living room she was just in and had a great view out the window of the living room; the outside wall of the loft also had mostly windows that overlooked the patio and a door that led to a small balcony off the loft.
“My Manhattan and Los Angeles lofts are very similar to this but bigger and nicer,” Armani said as he gracefully removed his boots and socks.
Karlea couldn’t imagine anything nicer than this. Armani led her to the bathroom off of the loft; it was big with a shower and bathtub combination and a jacuzzi.
Armani turned on the shower, making the water cool but not cold; Armani took the stereo remote from his pocket, he pressed a button and Delerium began to play on hidden speakers that Karlea couldn’t see. Armani removed his shirt as he faced her, Karlea finding herself staring at his tattoos - all the same ones in her daydream. The excitement of seeing Armani shirtless, caused a strong wave to hit Karlea; she very slowly removed her bra, letting it fall to the floor; she pulled on her lace panties, letting them fall around her ankles as she slowly stepped out of them. Armani found it hard to control himself; there she was all naked in front of him, but he had to get a hold of himself and remain gentlemanly. There may just be a fire starting... Thanks for reading and please comment, I love reading your comments!
