Vampire Friday o3.24.17

Welcome to Vampire Friday!

Where we last left off Karlea offered Jake and Vaughn her blood to heal them from their injuries. They both managed to stop drinking from her before she died. Jake took it upon himself to take care of her while she was recovering from the blood loss. She woke up but was still very weak. She asked Jake if he and Vaughn were all healed before passing out in Jake's arms...

Jake stared at the human in his arms. She had strained herself to ask if he and Vaughn were okay; humans shouldn't care if they survived being the monsters that he and Vaughn were, but this girl was different.
She moaned in her sleep, snapping Jake out of his thoughts, as her heart began to tank - beating slower and slower.
"Shit." Jake said, as he held her, he needed to hurry.
He bit his wrist and dripped his blood into her mouth, hoping that at that exact moment her heart wouldn't stop, or else she wouldn't be waking up human.
He listened to her heartbeat slowly increase as he was relieved that she didn't die when his blood hit her tongue - her waking up as a vampire wouldn't go very well. Not so soon anyway and under these circumstances. Although, when was a human ever turned vampire under good circumstances, Jake knew it rarely happened. And this was a perfect bad situation for it to happen.
He placed her back in his bed. She stirred as he covered her and then fell back into sleep, her heart staying steady.

Many hours later, Karlea opened her eyes. She squinted at the clock and then at the drapery on the balcony doors, she could see the daylight peeking though a tiny section of the drapery that hadn't been closed right. She looked across the room and saw Jake sitting in a chair, his laptop, closed, on a coffee table next to him.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey." Jake replied, as she sat up. She looked next to her to find the rest of Jake's big bed untouched.

"Did you sleep? I mean, I didn't mean to put you out of your bed."
Jake smiled and laughed slightly, "Sleep isn't a requirement. I mean I could, but I don't have to."
"Right." She answered. "So, you've been sitting in a chair watching me sleep? How long have I been out?"
"Almost, two days. And I've been keeping a watchful eye on you to make sure your heart didn't give out...again. It already did once yesterday. You almost died. I had to give you my blood to heal you."
Jake sat next to her on the bed. "If your heart had stopped in the moment I gave you my blood, you wouldn't have woken up human. You don't want to be what I am."
A wave of anger came over him, "What you did was extremely dangerous and usually deadly."
"I knew you and Vaughn wouldn't kill me." She replied.
"I'm a vampire, you can't trust me. If you die in my arms, I don't want to have to make that decision of whether you stay dead or if I get selfish and make you like me. You really don't want this."
Karlea jumped off of the bed, "I should...I should go."
"Its not safe for you out there."
"Its not safe for me in here. Just don't worry about me, I'll be okay. Sorry for all the trouble you got in because of me."
She headed towards the door. Jake used his speed to grab unto her and pull her into him, forcefully, making her gasp.
"I'm sorry," Jake spoke softly, "I just don't want this to be your fate. Not yet, hopefully not ever --"
"Look, I get it," Karlea interrupted, "You just met me and ended up coming to my rescue. You don't have to try to protect me. I'm just going to survive day by day, like I've always done. And if its really as dangerous for me out there as you say, then it should all be over rather quickly."

Vampire Friday o3.1o.17

Welcome to my favorite day of the week!

I am continuing on with my story BloodLust - the first in the series - I had started from the very beginning of it all, where Karlea met Jake and Vaughn at the club she works at. Later that night, Jake saves Karlea from being killed by a random vampire as she walks home, figuring out Jake (and Vaughn's) secret. Jake walks her home only to find her apartment ransacked. Jake brings her to his apartment for the night and recruits Vaughn to help him go find answers about what kind of trouble Karlea is in. As she waits for them to return, she decides to get some rest after such a long night. She awakens to Jake and Vaughn coming back, badly injured and in need of live human blood. Where we left off last week, she had just walked into the room, and Vaughn warned her it wasn't safe for her to be there.

"I know it's not, but I can heal you." She said.
Her voice was almost drowned out by the sound of her heartbeat for Jake and Vaughn.
Jake rolled off the couch, onto his feet, not as gracefully as he usually was. He could barely stand. He looked like a corpse.
"No! I will not risk taking your life! Vaughn, will. I will not." Jake said, trying to stand between her and Vaughn. He would use whatever he had left in him, to keep her from being killed. Even though, once he perished, Vaughn would just kill her anyway, but it was innate for him to protect her.
Vaughn smiled, Karlea noticing his fangs for the first time. He took another step forward, Jake putting out his arm in case Vaughn went in to attack, in hopes to catch him before he could reach Karlea. Even now, Vaughn was enjoying keeping his progeny on his toes.

Karlea looked at them, she stepped slowly towards her messenger bag that was still sitting on the floor from earlier. Vaughn watched her like he was watching prey, as Jake watched both her and Vaughn.
Karlea grabbed her pocket knife she had shoved into the water bottle pocket.
"You helped me, please let me help you." She said.

She flipped it open and dragged the blade across her skin from her shoulder to the top of her breast. She moaned quietly as she felt the sting of the wound and her blood start to drip down. She dropped the knife.
Jake and Vaughn both jumped back from the sight of her blood, trying to control themselves. The sweet smell of her blood hit both of them. Vaughn was reminded of his taste of her at the club.
She watched as Jake's eyes turned red. He stood back in between her and Vaughn with both of his arms out again.
"Karlea..."Jake spoke slowly, his voice strained, his eyes changing to black, losing all self control, "Run. Please, run."
Karlea shook her head and stood there. Vaughn went to attack, but Jake caught him and used whatever strength he had left to shove Vaughn aside. Jake used his speed to appear in front of Karlea. He put his arm around her and pulled her into him as she jumped in surprise. He placed his hand on her cheek as she breathed heavily.
"I'm so sorry." He said, Karlea seeing his fangs for the first time. She wasn't scared, she felt she was finally where she needed to be, right in their world. He licked the blood dripping down her before slamming his fangs into her. Her nails clawed into his arm and he felt her body tense up, but not in pain and fear, in excitement. She didn't struggle or try to pull away, she just let him take what he wanted.
He was finally getting that taste he had been denying himself all night. Her blood was sweeter than he even imagined it. Sweeter than what Vaughn had described. Which meant this could get addictive if she actually lived through this. He tried to remind himself that every sip towards healing was a sip away from her life.
Vaughn stood back and watched, elated that his progeny finally had the balls to drink from her. Jake's severe wounds already healing. However, he still needed to heal, too. Karlea opened her eyes and did her best to hold out her wrist to him. Vaughn went over to her, taking her wrist to his mouth. He felt her body tense up as he bit into her wrist. He drank, but it wasn't enough. He pulled away. He pushed her hair away from the side of her neck that wasn't occupied by Jake and bit down. it wouldn't be the first time, he and Jake shared a feeding, although it had been years.

Between the sensations of Jake and Vaughn feeding, and the light headedness, it felt as though there was no ground beneath her feet. With her eyes closed, the darkness began to spin and she didn't have the strength to hold onto Jake for support, her hand slipping off of his body, however they both easily held her up with no effort. She tried to open her eyes to find her way out of the blackness, but couldn't. She was losing herself down in it, eventually being swallowed up.

Vampire Friday o3.o3.17

Its been a long time, but here I am once again! This is my favorite day of the week.

So, where I last left off with my story BloodLust - the first in the series - I had started from the very beginning of it all, where Karlea met Jake and Vaughn at the club she works at.

Vaughn
Jake
Karlea awoke to a door bursting open outside of Jake's bedroom. She heard comotion and then the door slammed shut. She heard dishes and glasses crashing to the kitchen floor.
She quickly climbed out of Jake's bed and quietly tiptoed down the long hallway. She cautiously peered around the corner to see Jake lying on the sofa, his torso covered in blood. She could only slightly see his face. He looked even more pale than he usually was from what she could see. She couldn't see his eyes, but she noticed the dark circles around them, that made him look completely dead. His body shaking, so close to complete and final death. Vaughn yanked a blood bag from the back of the fridge and opened it. He didn't look like he was doing well either, but better than Jake at the moment. He rushed over to Jake's side the best he could.
"You need live blood, not this shit." Vaughn said, as Jake's shaking bloody hand, reached for it slowly.
Vaughn fell sitting on the floor, "We both do."
Jake sucked down some of the blood before he began to choke on it. He coughed and threw up blood onto the floor. Way more blood than what he just took in.
"I need to find you a human." Vaughn said, grabbing the rest of the blood bag and drinking it. He threw down the bag when it was empty and waited for it to help with his wounds and his hunger.
"You're in no shape," Jake slowly said with a raspy voice as if he were struggling for air.
"This isn't doing shit." Vaughn said.
"Go heal yourself. Its too late for me. Take care of her."
"You know how I will take care of her, Jake."
"I know. She'll be better off."

Karlea stepped out from the hallway.
"Karlea." Vaughn said as he stood up. "Its not safe for you."
His eyes were the darkest black as hunger took over. He took one step towards her.

Vampire Friday o6.11.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday, my favorite day of the week!

Its been a few weeks since I've posted, but we are going to pick up right where we left off. I believe Vaughn's last line was "I was draining new interns" while looking at Karlea. Remember at the bar when Karlea met Vaughn, she had said she was supposed to intern at Vaughn's record company. ;)

Karlea turned away from Vaughn and walked back over to the island counter, Jake following her.
"Are you okay?" Jake asked, softly.
"Yeah, I can handle him." Karlea smiled.
Jake laughed, "That's good, I can't."

"Oh, really?" Vaughn asked, appearing right next to her. Karlea and Vaughn staring at each other for a second before Vaughn broke away. Vaughn's menacing glare and Karlea standing tough.
"You still have yet to answer why I'm here." Vaughn said to Jake.
"Karlea, do you where your ex is staying?" Jake asked.
"I'm not really sure, he's a vagabond now. The last I heard was some tunnel in Battery Park, but that was weeks ago."
Jake looked at Vaughn, "We're going to Battery Park. And we're getting some answers."

"We are?" Vaughn questioned, "Now?"
Jake stared at Vaughn. I need back up, Jake said in his mind allowing Vaughn to hear. This girl is going to get us both killed, Vaughn said.
"Let's go and get this over with." Vaughn said, not happy.
Karlea looked at Jake concerned, "Be careful."
"I will. Please try to sleep, you look so tired. You can sleep in my bed." Jake replied, pushing some hair that had fallen into her face. Jake kissed her forehead.

Vaughn rolled his eyes. "What about me? Anyone care if I risk my life for this?"
"No." Karlea plainly replied. Jake smirked as he walked over to Vaughn.
"She likes me." Vaughn said.

Karlea laughed out loud and shook her head, no. Vaughn stared at her.
"I'm going to eat your girlfriend." Vaughn said as he flashed his fangs at Karlea.
"No, you're not." Jake said, quickly adding as he saw Karlea looking at him, "And she's not my girlfriend. Not yet anyways."
"Then what is she?" Vaughn asked as he went to exit the apartment.
"I-I don't, I don't know." Jake said, feeling Karlea's eyes on him, smiling.
"Were you guys doing it before I got here?"
"No, Vaughn."

"I hope you made her bleed and scream..." Vaughn continued on, ignoring Jake.
"Vaughn!" Jake yelled as he walked out.

Karlea laughed as she heard them down the hall. She looked around Jake's apartment, she felt a bit out of place suddenly being there alone. He obviously trusted her to leave her alone in his place already.  Although, he was a vampire, so he would probably know instantly if she had touched or taken something. And he knew where to find her.
She walked through the living room, looking at the paintings and sculptures he owned. Many she recognized from her relentless art history courses she had taken. Time periods ranged from the Renaissance to the 18th century. She wondered how old he really was and if these were possible originals he had carried with him throughout his years.

Vampir Freitag 16.1o.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday, my favorite day of the week!

This week we continue on with Jake and Karlea. First line is Jake's, continuing on about how if re-learns to live off of bagged blood from the blood bank...

Jake
"Which could make me lose control and feed on you."
Jake paused. "Then again, the fact that I drank human blood for the first time in three years could also make me lose control and feed on you."
"I guess we'll find out." Karlea said, looking down at her tea, taking a deep breath.
Jake couldn't ignore her heartbeat ringing in his ears anymore, nor her sweet smell. Before she could even look back up, Jake appeared behind her, grabbed onto her arm and spinning her around to face him. She gasped as her back hit the island counter, her tea mug spilling over. Her heartbeat accelerating.
"I guess we will." Jake said, staring at her heart, then looking up at her. "I really don't want to." His voice strained
"I know. Whatever happens, happens. As I said, its you or them, and I don't even know who they are. I'll take my chances with you."

The rotted smell of blood hit him and he could feel his eyes starting to change.
"Let me go burn those." He said to her, taking her ruined clothing from her hands. Karlea watched as he disappeared, the front door of his apartment opening and then closing. She took a deep breath, why the fuck was the possibility of death from Jake exciting her?

Down the street, Jake found an appropriate dumpster in an alley, one where the smoke and flames wouldn't bother, or even be noticed by, tenants living high above the street level. The dumpster had enough papers and trash that it would burn quickly. It had been a close call with Karlea, hopefully this would help even if just a little bit. He threw in the clothes. He lit a match and watched it burn on the stick between his fingers. Fire was an enemy of vampires, it was rare that one could heal themselves after being charred by fire, but he wasn't afraid of the flame. He dropped the match in and watched everything light up. As he stood watching everything burn, making sure her clothes would be nothing but ash, he quickly texted Vaughn to meet him at his place. He needed answers and Vaughn, whether willing or not, was going to help him get them.

Jake rushed back to his apartment, finding Karlea wiping up the tea with a cloth.
"You shouldn't be doing that. It was my fault." Jake said, sweetly, making her jump slightly. He put his hand on top of hers, attempting to take the cloth from her. "I apologize for --"
"Don't." Karlea said, facing him. "You can't help what you are. And you're not going to apologize every time you slip or almost slip"

Jake half smiled, "If I fully slip, there won't be anyone left to apologize to."
Karlea put her hand on his cheek and looked at him, not knowing what to say.
"Vaughn is on his way over." Jake said breaking the silence. Karlea removing her hand.
"He's a vampire too." Karlea said instead of questioning. She already knew the answer.
"He sired me." Jake admitted.
Karlea went to speak, but she was hit with flashes of Vaughn feeding off her at the club. Jake caught her in his arms. "Whoa, you okay?"
Karlea held onto him. "Yeah," She said quietly, "Vaughn drank from me at the club tonight. I didn't remember until now."

"He did."
"You knew?!"
Jake nodded, "Only when I came up to you at the bar after what happened in the basement. I could smell his scent on you and you seemed disoriented. That's why I left you so abruptly. We were fighting when Danny attacked you. Vaughn compelled you to forget, only you're not like most humans. lost time for you makes you question, where most would just let it go. Hence you were disoriented."
Vaughn
Vaughn burst through the door, "I was thinking if you don't want to turn her, you should at least bloodbond her, it would make her a bit stronger at least, to survive this."
Jake with Karlea still in his arms, both looked at him.
"Oh," Vaughn said, all cocky, "you didn't tell me she was here."
Vaughn smiled.
"Yes, Vaughn, she's here after she almost died with a knife in her side, walking home." Jake answered, "And she knows."
"How did you save her?"
"I gave her my blood to heal her." Jake said unhappy as Vaughn stared at her. "So, she knows what we are."

Karlea pulled away from Jake and stepped toward Vaughn.
"You drank from me and tried to make me forget." She said angrily.

Vaughn used his speed to lift Karlea off the ground and smash her into the wall, holding her by the throat. Jake immediately on Vaughn trying to pry his hand off of her.
"And you liked it." Vaughn retorted with a smile.
"Let me go!" Karlea choked out between his grip, still angry.
Vaughn let go of her throat but still held her to the wall.
"You understand that if you tell anyone of our existence --"
"What?" Karlea replied, "You make me suffer a horrible death?"

"Exposing us could be fatal."
"I don't want to expose you, your secret is safe with me. Besides even if I did want to tell anyone, it would end me up in the loony bin."
Vaughn let go of her as she shrugged him off of her.
"I like her, she has dark mind." Vaughn said, as she stared at him. "So, why am I here? This better be good, I was in the middle of draining some new interns."

Vaughn stared at Karlea as he put emphasis on 'draining new interns'.

Vampire Friday 11.o9.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday! My favorite day of the week!

This week, I have chosen to continue on with BloodLust, where Jake follows Karlea home to ensure her safety. I guess I didn't really choose to continue on with this, it just kind of flowed out as I am going through a whole rewrite of the original story I wrote a few years ago. I was doing good writing this excerpt at first, but then sleep depravation and sickness made me hit a minor writer's block for the rest of it. So, I did what you are supposed to do for writer's block and just kept writing. It is still WIP , so it will only have to be edited anyway. At least you have something to read.

Jake watched her as she walked towards the subway station at the end of the street. She was listening to music with only one of the headphones against her ear, the other resting behind her other ear; a way for her to still be aware to what was going on around her as she walked the city streets late at night. He admired how aware and attentive she was, unlike most humans who were lost into their own worlds and technological devices. How the world had changed over six centuries. Every minute or two she would look around and behind her, always knowing what was going on around her, the Manhattan streets still crazy with people at 4am. Jake had to be careful to stay a bit behind or move so fast around her that she didn't see him.
Karlea entered the subway station, swiped her Metro card, and made her way to the downtown E train platform. As the train approached, she put both headphones on her ears. She entered onto the half empty train and immediately sat down. She happened to look out of the window to see Jake descending the stairs. She looked away and smiled to herself and then back out the window as the train began to take off, but he had disappeared into the small crowd on the platform.
She really hoped that she would see him again, and that the night's events didn't scare him off. She really wanted to take him up on his offer to walk her home, not that she felt unsafe, she could take whatever the mean New York City streets had to throw at her since she lived her for so long, but she wanted to spend more time with Jake, off the clock. There was something different about him (and Vaughn), she just sensed it, and it excited her.
She hadn't given anyone the time of day since her and Danny broke up over a year ago. No one intrigued her enough. Everyone was the same. Even at the club, in the depths of the goth subculture, everyone was the same once you got to know them. Unfortunately, as a bartender, she got to know people more than she wanted, it was a total turnoff. She craved something more - something more taboo.
If any other dirtbag from the club had tried to do what Jake had done in the basement, she would have beat the shit out of them. She felt safe and comfortable with Jake. Why, she did not know. And was she ever attracted to him, the spark she felt when he touched her drove her crazy.

She didn't know that Jake was in the back of the train car watching her.

Vampire Friday o8.21.15

Hello and welcome to Vampire Friday! My favorite day of the week!

Its 7pm here in the States, so technically its still Friday! This is the first I have gotten to work today!
So, we will continue where we left off a few weeks ago. Jake and Vaughn have just saved Karlea from her ex and his girlfriend...

Jake rushed back over to Karlea, helping her down from the bar.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." She replied, "I could have taken him. I'm used to dealing with him."

Jake shook his head, "I don't doubt that you could. But I wasn't going stand by while he smacked you around."
"Well, thank you."
Jake gently rubbed her cheek, sending a spark through her. One drop of his blood could easily heal the redness. It was tempting to share himself with her, to heal her. "You should ice that." He said trying to push the temptation away.
He stared at her, moving closer to her. He should have pulled his hand away but he just didn't want to. Karlea grabbed onto his hand, stopping him from rubbing her cheek, and held onto it, moving in even closer, looking him in the eyes. Jake thought she was going to kiss him. A kiss he so badly wanted. He wanted to scoop her up and kiss her back so passionately.

"When you held me back, it felt like ten of you holding me. I couldn't move." She said, quietly, so no one else would hear her. "Why is that? No one is that strong. Unless you're not human. I hear rumors about Flesh, why its a private members only club and why they wouldn't hire me on as a bartender or dancer."
Jake stared at her. He was about to say that he would explain later to buy himself some time to make up a good believable reason, when Vaughn came up to them.
"Hey, kiddo, you alright?" He asked. Karlea pulled away from Jake.
"Yeah. Thanks to both of you." Karlea smiled, although Jake could tell she was trying to figure out if Vaughn was not human, too.

"Do you want to tell us what's going on? Considering we just got involved?" Vaughn asked, using his charming smile.
Karlea leaned back on the bar and sighed. "He's my last ex from a while ago, we lived together for a bit, then things started to go bad. He went away to Vegas, met Luna, when he came back he was way different. On drugs and always strung out, which made him more mean."

"Did he always hit you?" Jake asked bluntly, anger in his voice. Vaughn a bit surprised by how protective Jake was being of her. Karlea even noticing how protective Jake's voice sounded.
"Not until he came back from Vegas. That didn't last long, I don't put up with that shit. I kicked him out. I gave him back everything that was his or I burned it. He was in here tonight saying I still had a flash drive he was looking for. One he hid in my apartment one night when he broke in a few months ago. I haven't come across it."

Jake looked at Vaughn just as Karlea's boss, Matt, called her to behind the bar. She quickly excused herself.
"She's in trouble." Jake said.
"As are you." Vaughn replied, "I came over when i did because I heard her suspicions."
"I fucked up. I let my anger and my true strength show." Jake admitted. "When he hit her, it enraged me. The things I wanted to do to him with everyone watching. I wanted the world to know that no one could touch her. After, I wanted to kiss her so hard that everyone knew she was mine."

Vaughn shook his head and laughed, "You so have it bad for her. You're in love with her and you have claimed her as yours."

Vampire Friday o7.24.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday! My favorite day of the week!

Today, we continue on with my WIP erotic vampire story, called BloodLust. Where we last left off, Vaughn had to have a little taste of Karlea. What will happen when Jake figures it out?

Vaughn watched her from above in the rafters as she returned to her post behind the bar. Her two female co-workers wondering where she was. Vaughn listened in as she lied and made up the excuse that she was in the bathroom. He watched as she made drinks, she still seemed confused from his mind control, which was unusual, most humans moved on rather quickly, not thinking anything of the minutes of memories they had lost. Vaughn began to understand how different she was. The only reason she was still showing signs of confusion was because she was still trying to sort out the moments she had lost, something didn't feel right and she sensed it.
Vaughn reflected on his moment with her. When he slammed her into the wall, she never struggled; he had felt the sense that she liked it. When he went to bite her, she didn't struggle either, and when he did bite her, she didn't scream or try to push him off of her. She was excited by it, she was attracted to both him and Jake. Vaughn smiled, this could be fun.
Vaughn watched as two club goers insisted that she do a shot with them. She finally broke down and agreed, pouring three shots of whiskey. He watched as she slammed the shot down. She sensed something and Vaughn discretely leapt down from the rafters. Vaughn watched from the floor as she looked up towards the ceiling of the club and looked around. She shook her head and went back to making drinks. Vaughn took off to walk around the club.
Karlea continued making drinks, still slightly dazed. She handed the drinks to their respected owners and took their money, putting it in the cash drawer, when she looked up, Jake was standing in front of her. She did her best to smile.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey." Jake smiled.
"Need a drink? We're going to be shutting down soon."

"A glass of wine would be great." He replied.
"The same as before?"
Jake nodded and as she went to get it, he noticed that she wasn't right. In the little time he had known her, he already knew she was off.
"Are you okay?" He asked as she poured the wine.
She looked up at him, dazed. "What?" "Oh, yeah, I'm just tired and I think I drank too much."

She wasn't right.
"I hope I didn't throw you off downstairs and what I did wasn't too inappropriate."
Karlea set the wine glass down in front of him, she leaned as close as she could to him and smiled, her daze broken. The sound of her living heart was loud in his ears. Jake could smell Vaughn's blood on her neck, whatever Vaughn did, he had used mind control on her and she was still confused by it -which brought about other problems that he would deal with later - for now he had to deal with Vaughn. Knowing Vaughn, he was lucky Vaughn didn't turn her.
"What you did was completely inappropriate." She smiled. "And as I said, if you had been anyone else, I would have decked you and beaten you to a bloody pulp. But it was great and I enjoyed it."
Jake smiled, "Good."
"Please excuse me." Jake continued, "I'll be back in few minutes after the crowd has died down."

"Okay." She smiled back.
Jake grabbed his wine and stormed off to find Vaughn. He downed the glass of wine, he was going to need it to control his anger, and set the empty glass down on a table. He listened to his blood to find Vaughn on the dance floor. He cleared himself of his anger to get Vaughn to follow him. Jake walked up to Vaughn and tapped him on the shoulder. Vaughn stopped dancing.
"Can I speak with you for a minute?" Jake asked.
"Always." Vaughn replied smirking, already knowing what this was about. Vaughn followed Jake as he leapt up into the ceiling rafters. Jake walked across the rafters as Vaughn followed right behind. Jake looked down at Karlea as she was serving more drinks, he allowed his anger to return. He turned around, grabbing onto Vaughn and shoved him into the ceiling.
"Why did you drink from her?" Jake yelled, his eyes red and his fangs showing.
Vaughn laughed. "I just had to have a taste."

Jake slammed him into the ceiling again. Vaughn laughed harder.
"Come on, Jake, you know I'm not going to make this easy for you. When have I ever made it easy for you?" Vaughn said through his laughing.
Vaughn had a point, he had never made their years or centuries together easy. Vaughn always had to push Jake to his limits and beyond.

"There's a problem though," Vaughn continued as Jake still slammed him into the ceiling, over and over, "She senses us. Even before I bit her. Mind control worked but she's over thinking it, knowing she's missing minutes of time."
Jake stopped for a second to say, "I noticed. She's all confused and out of sorts."
"She also sensed me up in the rafters watching her. She didn't see me, but she knew." Vaughn said.
Jake slammed him into the ceiling again.
"There's another problem," Vaughn laughed, " Well, I guess it depends on how you see it, but she liked being slammed into a wall and being bitten. She wasn't scared, she didn't scream, and she didn't fight back."

Jake let go of Vaughn and looked down at Karlea.

This would be a good place to stop. What will happen next?

Vampire Friday o7.1o.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday, my favorite day of the week!

We continue on from where we last left off: where Jake had kissed Karlea and met Vaughn on the stairs after. Vaughn calling Jake hopeless...
Vaughn
"Perhaps." Jake just smiled.
Vaughn thought he was too happy to not have gotten something from Karlea.
"You did bite her at least, right?" Vaughn said.
Jake just shrugged his shoulders and raised his eyebrows. Vaughn stopped dead in his tracks to read Jake's blood. Then caught back up with him.
"You kissed her."
"That alcohol must have really calmed the craving." Jake replied sarcastically.
Vaughn shook his head. "It doesn't calm it that much."

"I don't know." Jake said, seriously. "We were in the dark and I had the urge to kiss her, the urge to bite her was gone."
"When love takes over..." Vaughn said.
"Shit, Jake, you're in trouble. Loving a human, never goes well. You know that."
"I know." Jake said, sadly, reminded of his past. "But I'm not in love with her. I just met her."
"Keep telling yourself that." Vaughn said before disappearing, leaving Jake alone.
Jake decided to go by the dance floor and watch people dance, and contemplate the kiss.

When Vaughn showed up in front of the bar, Karlea had her back turned, stocking the shelves. She looked over her shoulder and saw Vaughn.
"Hey," she said, turning around, "need a drink?"
I so do, Vaughn said to himself.

"I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute?" Vaughn smiled.
"Yeah, of course. Hold on."
Karlea quickly put the rest of the bottles on the shelf and broke down the box, shoving it behind the tall garbage can. She went over to Vaughn, facing him from across the bar. Vaughn looked around.
"Can we go somewhere a little more private?"
"Yeah, sure."
She walked down the length of the bar and exited, Vaughn standing right there. She went to question how he had gotten there so much faster than her, but she quickly dismissed it. Karlea followed Vaughn to an area of the club that wasn't as crowded. Vaughn reached back and grabbed her arm. He pulled her and wrapped his arm around her as he slammed her against the wall. He pulled slightly on her hair so he could expose her neck and then sunk his fangs in. Her blood was sweet and tasted as good as she smelled. He stopped himself and let go, wiping his mouth on his sleeve.
"Damn, you taste amazing." He said.
Karlea was breathing heavily.
"What are you?" She questioned calmly.
Vaughn put both of his hands on her face and looked into her eyes.
"You are captivating." He said.

"As are you." She replied.
"Vampire. But you need to forget all this now and go back to work as if nothing happened." Vaughn said, still staring into her eyes.
He kissed her forehead, "Bye Karlea, I will see you again soon."

He quickly bit his finger and wiped a drop of blood across her bite marks, healing them.
"Go." He said.
Karlea started to walk back to the bar, after a few feet she stopped, snapping out of her trance. She turned around, but Vaughn was nowhere. She was really confused of what had just happened - was she supposed to have a conversation with Vaughn or did she imagine that? No time to worry about it though, she looked at the bar and noticed the wave of people. She ran back over.

Vampire Friday o6.26.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday, my favorite day of the week!

This week's continues right where we left off last week.

Jake watched Karlea as she worked the bar, almost like an animal watching its prey. He noticed her leave the bar and head down the stairs that were located behind the back wall of the bar that led to the bathrooms. Jake smiled deviously at Vaughn.
"Go get her, tiger." Vaughn laughed.
Jake took off towards the stairs, tuning into her scent, which he used to find which direction she went after she went down the stairs. She had gone down the hallway opposite the bathrooms. The hallway was littered with extra furniture and club backstock, at the very end was a door that opened to a room of alcohol backstock.

Karlea went through the backstock, emptying out a box to use to put all the alcohol she needed to restock in it. The lightbulb in the hanging socket started to flicker as Karlea looked up it. She tried to reach it to screw it in tighter, but she was just an inch too short. Karlea sighed and returned to searching for the alcohol she needed. She heard footsteps behind her near the door.
"The bathrooms are down the other hall." She called out as she put the bottles she was holding in the box.
She looked over her shoulder and saw Jake. She turned around.
"Oh, hey." She said.
"Sorry I went the wrong way." Jake said, staring at her with no intent of turning around and heading the other way.
"It happens." Karlea smiled.
"See, I told you I would get your shirt dirty." She quickly said, not wanting Jake to leave. She pointed the wet spot on the shirt and laughed. The light flickered and went out, leaving only the shadow of Jake in the doorway, the light from the hallway behind him.
"Damn it." Karlea said as she stretched for the lightbulb.
Jake used his vampire speed to appear in front of her. He put his hands on her hips, and felt her jump. He could feel his eyes had turned red and dangerous, and his blood was burning in him. He could drain her and leave her body on top of the boxes of alcohol; no one would ever know it was him, since the club opened up to Flesh patrons, there was a number of vampires that could have done it. He knew the owner of Virtu, Matt, was a vampire, but he didn't think that Matt let his employees know what he was. Karlea probably had no clue that vampires existed.
"I suppose I should take it off of you then." Jake said as he pulled her into him. She didn't resist and instead of going for her neck, Jake planted his lips on hers, each of them feeling the spark. They kissed long and hard, Karlea wrapping her arms around him. Jake's fingers got tangled in her hair. He pushed her back into the boxes, his knee caught in between her legs as he pushed into her.

The light flickered back on and Jake was relieved that he could feel his eyes had returned to normal before she could see them. Jake pulled away from her lips and pulled her up with him, so she was standing back on her feet. They smiled at each other.
"That was ummm..." Karlea blushed, trying to find words.
"Yeah." Jake replied, smiling. "I should probably go use the bathroom."
"I should probably get this box upstairs." Karlea said.
"I'll see you up there then."
"Yeah."
Jake turned around and used a normal human speed to walk away towards the bathrooms.
Vaughn watched curiously as he saw Karlea walk up the stairs carrying the box of alcohol.
He went by the stairs just as Jake was walking up them.
"Hopeless." He said to Jake.

I totally rewrote this scene and cut out a ton that the original had, oh and they never kissed in the original. Let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!

Vampire Friday o6.19.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday!!!

This week I am continuing on with BloodLust. I first novel I started to write prior to BloodLust: Armani. I still feel the need to re-outline this story. Its less erotica and more romance. I feel it needs to be more erotic but on a level lower than Armani, because lets face it Armani & Karlea are on fire :)

Vaughn used his vampire speed and caught up to Jake as he walked away from the bar.
"I got a drink." Jake joked as he held up his drink.
"You're hopeless." Vaughn said.
"I know." Jake smiled as Vaughn took the drink and took a sip.
"Its good." He mouthed and then handed it back, "strong."
"Its good though, it will help calm the craving." Jake said, downing the drink.

"I just want to watch you rip her apart." Vaughn admitted.
"I wouldn't mind ripping someone apart, but not her. There's something about her. I want her."
"Yeah, she's mega hot." Vaughn interrupted.
"No, its more than that. Her energy is contagious." Jake said memorized.

"Then after you have her, you rip her apart?" Vaughn said hopeful.
"Perhaps. If I slip." Jake paused and rubbed his forehead, "What am I doing?"

"You could always rip her apart, then have her."
Jake just stared at Vaughn with a what the fuck look on his face.
"I mean we are part dead after all. We died, re-animated bodies by blood."
"Really?" Jake questioned with a sarcastic tone.

Vaughn laughed, "Come on, Jake, admit it, you've missed me."
Jake shook his head and then smiled, "Yeah, I've missed you."
Vaughn threw his arm around Jake and they walked back towards their dates. As soon as they stood in front of their dates, their dates inquired to where their drinks were since Vaughn said they were getting drinks earlier.

Vaughn turned to Jake, "I think its time to end this before the annoyance becomes any greater."
Jake glanced over at Karlea, using his want for her to fuel his want for blood, so he could finish Jenna. He used his vampire speed to appear before Jenna, sinking his fangs into her throat as he heard Vaughn do the same to Cindy. Vaughn finished first, leaving Cindy's unconscious body slumped over on the bench.
The sight of Jake feeding after so long of not drinking live human blood reminded Vaughn of when he first turned Jake, around 600 years ago. The first frenzy feed when you feed from a human for the first time in your new vampiric life with no sense of control, jolting and shaking while you feed.

Vaughn gently put his hand on Jake's shoulder. "You need to stop. You can't kill her or it was cost me a fortune."
Jake pulled away. Vaughn knew it was harder than it looked. Jenna's body slumped over. Jake fell to the floor, laughing, drunk on the blood. Vaughn watched as he just layed out on the floor, lost in the euphoria. Vaughn looked around to make sure no one saw, not that it really mattered anyway, so many humans were drunk or high on drugs in this club, no one would probably notice unless they tripped over Jake and even then they probably would just think Jake is fucked up on drugs. The smell of humans drunk and fucked up on club drugs was obnoxious.
Vaughn smirked, "Just imagine, Jake, what She will taste like."

With vampire speed, Jake got to his feet, brushed his coat off, and glanced in Karlea's direction.

This is where I stop for today. What will happen next? Thanks for reading and please comment, I love reading comments on what's working and what isn't. I will catch up on commenting soon, I have been posting comments but they don't seem to show up.

Vampire Friday o5.15.15

Welcome to Vampire Friday, my favorite day of the week! My feet are firmly planted in Oakland, for this week anyway.

This week's excerpt continues where we left off last week. What trouble will Karlea be in?

Vaughn and Jake's dates returned from the bathrooms each clinging to arm of their date. Karlea watched a bit disappointed.
“What can I get your girl?” She asked Jake.
“Oh, she’s not my gir---” Jake started to reply before Vaughn interrupted.
“She is tonight.” Vaughn smiled.
“Okay.” Karlea said, “What can I get you girls?”
“A rum and coke, please.” Jenna said.
“And a screwdriver, please.” Said Cindy.
Karlea made the drinks quickly and handed them over.
“You can put everything on my tab.” Vaughn said.
Karlea smiled, “On the house.”
“Thanks.” Jake said, putting a tip on the bar for her.
“Not a problem.” She smiled at Jake, not wanting to take her eyes off of him.
“Yes, thank you.” Vaughn said taking her hand and kissing it once again. He slipped a tip into her hand as he did and then walked away. The open space quickly filling up with customers. Karlea snapped out of her trance and took the tip Jake left.

The four of them sat in the darkest corner of the club, their almost empty drinks were on the table in front of them. Vaughn was seated with Cindy on top of him. His arms were wrapped around her as he was already drinking from her. Jake was sitting next to Jenna, awkwardly kissing her neck, but watching Karlea at the bar at the same time. He watched as Karlea made drinks and even did a few shots with the club goers. He finally pulled his eyes away from Karlea, so he could focus on his date; he was feeling hungry after all and needed to get something. His eyes glowed red. He went to bite Jenna but then hesitated. Was he really ready for the consequences this would bring? He quickly bit Jenna’s neck, his hand over her mouth to muffle the cry that would escape her lips. The first taste was more euphoric than usual and Jake lost himself in it. It tasted good, but Jake did notice the bitter taste to her blood. He could only imagine how sweet Karlea's must taste. He drank for a little bit, but then his eye caught Karlea, and his attention was turned back to her. Thanks for reading, please comment, I love reading your comments!

Vampire Friday o5.o8.15

Better late than never! Welcome to Vampire Friday! My schedule has been crazy, but I really wanted to post, so here it is. We start right where we left off last time.
Both of them watch as she stretched for a bottle of Jack on the high shelf. Her pale flat stomach crept its way out of her tank top. Her black cargo pants hung very low on her hips. Her navel was pierced with a red jeweled  heart  barbell; the curvy tails of black tribal  designs stuck out on each side of the front of her pants, leading down to where Jake and Vaughn wished they could see the rest. Her lower back, had another tribal design across it, this time in turquoise.
They watched as she finished making the club goers drink. The club goer made her smile and then laugh. Her smile was contagious. She turned towards Jake and Vaughn for a second, still smiling, and they noticed her rather pointy canine teeth and her tongue was pierced as well. The teeth were small, but looked like vampire teeth. Jake and Vaughn looked at each other. She walked by them and smiled, putting the cash in the cash drawer.
Jake and Vaughn both breathed in her scent as she passed by. She smelled good and sweet, her scent was peach smelling and her blood scent smelled sweet also, but it was human, not vampire. The scent of her blood and the peach smell was enough to drive them both into a bloodlust. They could easily leap over the bar, grab her, and drain her of her blood, and no one would be able to stop them. It would be over in a matter of seconds and leave extreme carnage of her body. The murderous creature they were wanted to be let out, but because of their years of experience they were able to ignore the bloodlust. Well, Jake not so much, he was fighting the urge to just let go. They wondered how she survived so long smelling like that and with so many vampires around. Fledgling vampires would not have the control that they did. Maybe it was just to them that she smelled so good.
She walked over to them. “Hey guys, sorry about the wait. What can get you?” “Your blood in a chalice.” Vaughn said in his thoughts. Jake heard him and slightly elbowed him. Vaughn just smiled.
Jake smiled at her and said “A glass of Cabernet Sauvignon .”
“Okay.” She turned to Vaughn, “And for you?”
“A glass of Tempranillo, if you have it.” He replied.
“We had a bottle, I’ll have to see if we still have it. That’s a really good wine.”
She looked around the bar for the wines.
“Luckily, we still have it.” She said she went back over to them.
She grabbed two glasses and a cork screw, starting with the Cabernet Sauvignon first.
“Are you guys from Flesh? I’ve never seen you here before.” She asked.
They both shook their heads. She looked at Vaughn.
“Your Vaughn Lancaster, right? From ReVamped Records.”
“Yeah.” He replied, happy that she knew who he was.
“I was supposed to be a one of your assistant interns a few semesters ago, but then I had to take some classes instead.”
“Those interns were tasty.” Vaughn thought, Jake listening. Vaughn charmingly said, “I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but I would much rather meet you here than at the record company. What’s your name?”
“Karlea.”
Vaughn took her hand and kissed it seductively. He heard her stop breathing as he did. He imagined biting her hand as he kissed it, just to have a taste. “Well, its a pleasure to meet you, Karlea. This is Jake, he’s a concert writer for AP magazine.”
Vaughn handed Jake her hand.As soon as Jake and Karlea touched there was a spark between them, one that made Karlea jump a little.
“Hi.” He said before he kissed her hand.
“Hi.” She smiled.
She went back to opening and pouring the wines.
“Those are some pretty interesting teeth.” Jake said, trying to find out if they were fake, which he guessed they were.
Karlea smiled handing them each their glass of wine. “Thanks. They’re real, no cosmetic dentistry needed. Had them since i was a child. I could have filed them down, but I loved them."
