MidWeek Tease o8.29.18

Welcome to MidWeek Tease! Thank you to Angelica Dawson for hosting this fun blog hop!

Where we left off, Charlotte was on her date with the handsome, wealthy...and vampire, Anton Pierce. She kind of discovered some things about him, not that he was a vampire, but that he was dominant and that there would be consequences with him, if she was too sassy. They discussed terms of dating each other since they both felt they were bad at it. This week things heat up a bit in so many ways...

We decided to go back inside and catch the band, the band being fairly decent.  Charlotte stood dancing to one of their songs, when she looked back at me and smiled. I took a step closer to her, wrapping my arm around her, pulling her in close. Her exposed neck sticking out of her jacket began to taunt me, as her body continued to sway to the music.
Things were only going to get harder for me in this sense. My mind started to ponder the idea of instead of taking her home tonight, taking her to my estate in wine country, where no neighbors could hear her scream. Ending it and then having a morning stroll in the sun to nonexistence.

I moved my attention to the band, rubbing my eyes, trying to get ahold of myself before my eyes changed color and my fangs made an appearance. I was never afraid that exposing myself accidentally could lead to my death by humans. My strength and speed enough to take out this whole venue if need be.

Pretending to be human in all my centuries had been a challenge. I believe it is for any vampire that wants to walk among the living. Yes, there are vampires who choose to remain hidden away from the human world, only making an appearance to feed from unwilling victims. But it was better for our kind to pretend to walk with the living. However, no leisurely stroll in the park. I’ve had plenty of business meetings that have not gone my way that have lead me to forcibly control my anger, so no one gets their throat ripped out. Charlotte, though, just kept showing me that this was a level of control I’ve never experienced, she tested every part of me that I managed to perfect over the centuries. This was going to be a whole new level of control, I was going to have to perfect while with her and hope she didn’t die in my learning.
Every nerve I had, felt like it was on fire and I felt almost as hungry as I awoke. Her skin against mine was giving me a euphoric feeling that I felt when I fed. My mind was becoming a mess of wanting to love her like a human, fuck her as hard as I could until she was screaming in ecstasy, feed from her as she screamed in fear, and doing so until her heartbeat ceased. This was my new reality and I’m sure it was only grow in intensity the more intimate we became.

Charlotte turned back and looked at me. I smiled and planted a small kiss on her forehead. She smiled and turned back to watch the band, letting her body relax against mine, her head resting on me.

Her scent consisted of the smell of her shampoo and whatever other body sprays she wore. But I could also smell her femininity, her lust,...her fear, not of what I was because she didn’t know, but her fear of being in a relationship. Her nervousness of being around me. Her blood...her type B- blood smelled even sweeter than her shower fragrance. All this put together was the best thing I ever smelled. I knew she would be the most divine thing I would ever taste, too. Her heart and the blood traveling in her veins, I could hear it constantly, and I could see it, too.

“Should we get out of here?” I whispered in her ear, more husky than I meant. Sexual lust and blood lust taking over.
“Yes.” She replied in an almost breathy voice.

She wrapped her arm around mine as we started to walk down the sidewalk towards where I had parked. I stared at her as we walked. She looked up at me, smiled and looked away, looking back at me again.
“What? You’re staring.” She asked.
I shook my head, “I just think you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen that’s all.”
She laughed and smiled.
“Are you always this nervous?” I asked.
“Usually no. Just around you...apparently.”
“Why...because I’m wealthy and have some standard you have to live to? I told you none of that matters to me.”
“I know.” She paused, and then spoke again, “I feel all these crazy things around you, too. Like I want you, but its so much more than that. I’ve never felt something this intense, truthfully.”
We stopped walking and I faced her.
“Consider me yours,” I said, “Until you don’t want me or until you decide this relationship doesn’t work for you anymore. I have to admit, I’m trying to take tonight easy because I don’t want you to think I only want one thing.”
“I know you don’t.” She replied. Her beautiful eyes staring into me.
“Fuck.” I said in that husky voice, as everything hit me again. I grabbed onto her, and pushed her up against the wall of the building we were in front of. One hand on her waist, the other binding her wrists above her head, as I kissed her deeply. I expected her to try to push me away, but instead she kissed me back just as intensely, her breath ragged. She didn’t even try to fight against her bound wrists. The euphoric feeling that I didn’t understand, sweeping through me.
I pulled my lips away from hers. “I’m sorry, am I being too rough for the first date?”
“No.” She replied between breaths. “I like it.”
“Good.”
I went back to kissing her, leaning down further to kiss the top of her breast that stuck out of her jacket. She moaned, her wrists straining against my hand and her back arching. I pulled away again and looked up at her, sensing people were coming this way.
“There’s more where that came from. But we should probably go.” I said, letting go of her wrists. She nodded, unable to speak, as she noticed people down the street. I kissed her quickly on the lips. She smiled and put her arm back in her favorite place around mine.
“And this should be our second date,” she said, “last night was our first.”

Thanks for reading! Sorry that was a long tease but I had to get to the good part :) I haven't written the next part, so I'm not sure if they should go to his place or hers.

WeWriWa o8.26.18

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

We continue where we left of two weeks ago. Karlea is driving Armani a bit crazy...

Armani rubbed his temples and let out another breath. "At least take off the tattered thing before climbing into bed."
"Fine." She said, before climbing back off the bed. She tugged on the dress, it pooled around her feet easily. She grabbed the sheet she had dropped on the floor earlier and wrapped herself in it.

"You were the one who tattered the thing in the first place."
"Yes, I am well aware." He said with a slight smile, as he watched her climb back up on the bed and take a place next to him, only with the biggest gap she could manage between them before almost falling off the bed.
Armani rolled his eyes, "You do know that we did way more intimate and devious things last night and this morning, that you don't have to sleep on the edge of the bed?"

Thanks for reading! I'll try to make it around to as many snippets as I can, I'm a bit under the weather this weekend. Being sick in the summer is so much worse than in the winter. :(

Midweek Tease o8.15.18

Welcome to MidWeek Tease! Thank you to Angelica Dawson for hosting this fun blog hop!

Where we left off last week, Charlotte was on her date with the handsome, wealthy...and vampire, Anton Pierce. She kind of discovered some things about him, not that he was a vampire, but that he was dominant and that there would be consequences with him, if she was too sassy. Where we last left off, Anton was explaining his busy life owning the wine business and how he never dates, that Charlotte would be an exception...

“Why make an exception at all?” She said with doubt in her voice, like she wasn’t good enough for me.
Her question was a difficult one...I couldn’t give her the whole truth, it would terrify her...because if I walk away from you, the monster could come out and attack you because we both want you. If I give us a chance with you, it might just keep you alive.
“Because if i don’t, I think I would be missing out on someone that’s really amazing. I’m not about to let you slip by me.”
I looked at her, she seemed hesitant.
“Why are you so nervous?” I asked.
“Because….I’ve been so many bad relationships. And I’m not good at the whole dating thing.”
“I’m not either. We can be bad at it together.”
She smiled and slightly laughed, “Okay. Rules though, none of that I expect to be with you every moment of the day to the point where we give up everything we enjoy or have to do, we both have lives.”
I laughed, “Definitely deal. I’m too busy to begin with anyway. But the few moments I am free, I would like to spend with you.”
“I think I can handle that.” She replied.
I pulled her into me, once again, softly kissing her. Now that we were officially together, there was less need in our kiss, less urgency, we weren’t trying to show that we wanted each other. It was sweet and genuine.
We decided to go back inside and catch the band, the band being more decent than expected.

WeWriWa o8.12.18

Welcome to another week of Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off, Karlea was driving Armani crazy by being defiant. He recommended she get some more sleep, and she refused...

"You're lucky I'm in a nice mood, so I'm going to let that slide. Tomorrow, however, will be a very different story." Armani said. "Let me just remind you that although you feel great right now, your body is still human. It will collapse from exhaustion, you had quite a night last night."
"Don't remind me." Karlea replied as she stepped towards the bed, starting to climb up on the bunched up comforter.
"What are you doing?"

"Taking a nap." She answered with a 'duh' tone to her voice.

I think she's determined to drive him crazy in every sort of way she can. ;)

WeWriWa o8.o5.18

Welcome to Weekend Writing Warriors / Snippet Sunday!

Where we last left off, Armani was telling Karlea that he wasn't going to take her back to Manhattan for her clothes, instead he would just buy her new ones...

"I suggest you get some more sleep and get on vampire hours. I'm taking you out for a night on the town, all night." Armani said, putting his feet up on the bed.
"I'm good." Karlea replied.
Armani rolled his eyes, "Going to fight me on everything, I see."

"Yup. Why not?" Karlea smiled.
Armani let out a long breath that he didn't need to survive, but with her he did...

Vampire Friday o8.o3.18

Welcome to Vampire Friday!
We continue on where we left off the last time.
Reed
"Bring him in." Reed said to his men. Before Karlea could blink, two of Reed's men dragged in a man with a sack over his head. His clothes were dirty and his shirt was soaked in blood. As the men held him in one place, his body was clearly trembling. A third man of Reed's went to remove the sack, Karlea already knew who it was.
"Danny." She said, as his eyes tried to adjust to the light.

He looked weak and almost dead. His skin was so pale. He was dripping sweat and shaking like he was cold at the same time.
"He claims that you have what he stole from me." Reed said as he faced her.
"I don't have it. He said he broke into my apartment and hid it. Then he ransacked it the other day."
Reed yanked her closer to him. He felt her heavy breath on his chest, she was scared. He lifted her chin up, so she was looking him in the eyes.
"I apologize if this hurts a bit." He said before forcing his way into her memories. Karlea screamed.

"Can you feel me?" Reed asked.
"Yes." She whispered.
Reed searched her memories of Danny, it only took seconds to know everything about their relationship; when they met, the good times, the bad when everything started to fall apart, the abuse, and the piece he really wanted to know.
"You are telling the truth." He stated.

Before he let Karlea's mind go, he quickly read all of her life's memories from when she was little up until this very moment. He left her. Karlea couldn't help but rest her head against his chest when he was done.
"It would have been a tragedy to have to kill you." He said to her.
He went over to Danny.
"That means you've been lying. You're so fucking gone, you believe your own lies. Although, I have to thank you because without those lies, I would have never been brought to her."
Danny suddenly came to life, as if someone had turned a switch on somewhere. He started laughing hysterically as if he was out of his mind.
"She don't have it. Luna gave it to someone, I dunno who."
Karlea watched as Reed's eyes turned red. He grabbed Danny by the shirt collar and pulled him forward.
Danny's hysterical laugh mixed with pain as Reed tried to read his thoughts. Reed quickly let go and let Danny fall to the ground, still laughing. Reed walked past one of his men, taking something from him.
He walked over to where Matt was on the ground, "This is for the mess."
Reed threw the stack of money he was holding, landing it perfectly on the bar. He went back in between Karlea and Danny, who had been retrieved from the floor, still laughing and being held again by Reed's men.
"This should make her happy after everything you put her through." Reed said, looking at Karlea, his eyes changing to black.  He faced Danny, who just kept on laughing.
Karlea screamed as she watched Reed punch his fist through Danny's chest and rip out his heart. Danny's blood poured out and started to cover the floor, his laugh silenced. Reed's fangs pierced Danny's heart as he drank the blood within it.

Karlea sobbed, the club starting to spin around on her.
Reed pulled out a handkerchief and wiped his mouth of the blood. His dress shirt covered in blood as well.
"You can come out, Vaughn, I know you're trying to sneak in." Reed called towards the front doorway, "I can always sense you, Vaughn."

Vaughn appeared from around the corner.
"Always so good to see you again." Vaughn said so plainly, meaning the exact opposite of what he had just said. He took stock of where Jake was and the situation, adding "And killing people as always."

MidWeek Tease o8.o1.18

Welcome to MidWeek Tease! Thank you to Angelica Dawson for hosting this fun blog hop!

Where we left off last week, Charlotte was on her date with the handsome, wealthy...and vampire, Anton Pierce.

We drank two more absinthes while watching the band, before I motioned for her to follow me. I took her hand in mine and led her outside to the courtyard. Ambient electronic filled the courtyard, along with much cigarette smoke. This was the place to go if you smoked apparently. There was nowhere to sit, so I led her over to a dimly lit corner where no one wanted to be. How ironic...a dimly lit corner, a beautiful human girl, and a vampire, nothing could go wrong here...
“Is this spot okay?” I asked.
She nodded, “No one wants to smoke over here, so yes its good.”
I looked into her sparkling, gorgeous eyes. “So where did we leave off last night?
She smiled. “I don’t know, so many good places.” She said with sarcasm in her voice.
“I was more referring to in the parking lot.” I said, “I believe you kissed me here.”
I pointed to my cheek.
“I did.”
“And then I kissed you here.” I kissed her on the forehead as I did last night. “Do you know what I really wanted to do, but I was afraid I would end up with one of your heels through my chest?”
She laughed slightly, probably at the fact that was something she would actually do, and gently shook her head.
“Do you want to find out?” I asked, “Just no heels through my chest, please.”
She looked at me and scrunched up her face, “I’m not wearing heels.”
“Probably a good thing.”
She looked at me and shook her head. As if she already knew what to do to see what reaction would be, she stepped up on her tiptoes and kissed my cheek just as last night. I took her hand in mine, and with my other hand stroked her cheek before placing my lips on hers.
Our kiss ignited a fire deep inside me that made me feel more alive than I had ever been, caught against the restraint of being a vampire. The truth of my existence had never been more clear...I was once alive, human, and then I died at the hands of another, who reanimated me, and made me undead, but not human, a vampire. I had never wished to be human more than I did right now.
I could tell the chemistry between us sparked something within her too, as she pressed her body against mine.
As we pulled away, I kept my arm around her back in case she fell over from being unbalanced, being pressed so close against me.
She caught her breath.
“Do you kiss all the ladies like that?” Her smart mouth asking as soon as she recovered.
I smirked, “I haven’t kissed anyone in a very long time. And when I have, it definitely wasn’t like that. Only you.”
“Good.” She smiled.
I shook my head and laughed, she was obviously testing me to see what my reactions were to her sassiness. “That mouth of yours…”
“What?” She tried to ask innocently, only she had one eyebrow raised that made it more mischievous.
“Does it get you in trouble a lot?” I asked.
She shrugged her shoulders. “Not enough in the way I want it to.”
I caught her off guard and pulled her into me, “Well, it will with me. I won’t tolerate that mouth.”
She looked up at me, the realization hitting her. “You’re a dom.”
I nodded, “And you’re a complete brat.”
She smiled deviously, “I am.”
“I don’t live it twenty-four seven, definitely not in public for obvious reasons of the press, and being in the public eye. So, all I can do right now is take stock of what you do, and hush that sassy mouth of yours.”
Before she could speak another word, I pressed my lips against hers. I could tell she wanted to protest, but she gave up her will to fight and gave into the kiss.
She looked up at me and smiled as I pulled away from her lips, still keeping my arms around her.
“What do you want with me?” She whispered.
“Look, Charlotte, I like you, a lot. Ever since you came up and spoke to me. I mean you grabbed my attention as soon as I walked into the museum. Everything about you, so far, drives me wild, especially your sassiness. And I’m pretty sure there’s a mutual attraction.”
“There is.” She replied, “But why me? You’re like this successful millionaire...and I can just afford my expenses working at the museum. I live simply.  I’m not versed in fancy engagements and press, and all that...crap.”
“None of that matters to me. I didn’t always own a successful wine business. I don’t really like being in the spotlight either, but it’s part of the territory. If you don’t want to be in the spotlight, I’ll do my best to shield you from it.”
She nodded her head. I listened to her heart quickly, not getting lost in it. It was still racing, the idea of a relationship was completely freaking her out for whatever reasons she had. Which was good for me, the thought of being this close to a human on a regular basis was freaking me out, too. How long before I slipped and tried killing her...and if I succeeded?
This was all a bad idea, including this date, even though so far I was holding it together.
“I am the CEO of my own company, among other things,” I added.
I needed a way to cover the fact that I hid from the sun during daylight hours, and usually spent my nights working.  “I work every day of the week. All day and sometimes at night. I’m not always available, it makes it hard to have a normal relationship, so I don’t even try to have anything at all. You would be an exception.”
