Karlea shook her head no.
Armani grabbed a bottle of water off of the end table, "You need to stay hydrated."
Armani opened the top and held it up to her lips. She took a sip, but then spit it out.
"You spiked it with your blood."
"You need to keep up your strength," Armani answered.

Congrats on the BloodLust website! And tense excerpt... I get the feeling he's keeping something important from her. And I loved his phrasing: "I hoped to keep your body warm." A very non-human way of saying it :)
