(This is ER/RO/PA/FA - Forgot to put this in my name on the linky list.)
And the winner is... of course BloodLust: Armani :)
For those readers that remember the story, I'm just going to continue where I last left off. For those who don't, Karlea is a human who was taken against her will by vampire Armani. He had forced her to drink large quantities of his blood, bloodbonding her to him. She was high on his blood the night before and had slept with Armani. This takes place right after she wakes up. This isn't the first time she has dealt with vampires. She was dating one in the past that had broken it off with her right before Armani took her captive.
Karlea lept up, taking the blanket with her to cover her nakedness. Armani, wrapped in a sheet, opened his eyes. Karlea tried to speak first, but failed; she was tired, cold, scared, and definitely angry. The euphoria was gone, leaving her head a jumbled mess.
“Good morning.” Armani smiled, looking at her adoringly and happy, although he knew she was anything but - last night was more incredible than any kill or any woman he had ever been with. He looked at the light coming in from the window, “Afternoon.”
“Where are my clothes?” Karlea asked as calmly as she could.“Why? You’re not going anywhere.” Armani replied, smirking.

I think she's experiencing an appropriate reaction. :-)
ReplyDeleteCan I make a suggestion? Since it's just the two of them in this scene, it might feel a little more fluid if you replaced names with pronouns a little more. I scrolled down the page to see which snippet you continued from. Karlea is well identified as the female in the beginning of this snippet. Maybe try replacing the first "Karlea" with "She" and read it out loud to see if it sounds better to you. :-)
Welcome back. :-)
It sounds like her ordeal isn't over yet. I wonder if he'll win her over.
ReplyDeleteHe's certainly sure of himself.
ReplyDeleteOh-oh, he doesn't seem to be kidding.
